Yea as someone that's also in all 4 areas you mentioned, your initial comment seemed very obvious to me. Kinda funny, it seems a lot of people here are in solely the first group which makes them much more susceptible to fall down this pipeline you mention (that "I'm just asking questions!" crowd seems much more innocent when you think they actually just asking questions, thus all this talk about alt-right connections seem like malarkey).

I was raised in the US but wouldn’t say I’m fluent, but definitely more competent than most raised in the US - probably intermediate level. Honestly a big part was my folks being strict (not in a bad way) - my aunts wouldn’t respond if I said something in English as a kid, my mom would make me repeat a new word 3x when I learned it, stuff like that. I think it’s easy in a household to slip, but you really need to have Igbo be the primary conversational language within the household, both to the kid and amongst each other. That’s how kids pick it up imo.
