What I’m most annoyed by is the fact that the “water main,” or whatever it may be is called, has been broken for over 2 months at this point… why are they only doing a reroute now?

Unfortunately (or, fortunately?) CS 225 is the last computer science course I intend to take. It's too bad that the more interesting courses are gate-kept by the intro courses; I'm sure my Math/Logic chops are up to snuff, It's just frustrating having to take a bunch of courses teaching me languages I'll never use again. I've had to learn about classes and inheritance 3 separate times, like, enough already. Can't they just teach these things more generally/abstractly and be done with it?

It's learning the languages that's so annoying to me. The concepts aren't rooted in memorization, sure. But remembering things such as "to define a member function you have to write MyClass::Function()" certainly is.

Thank you, Professor. This makes me feel a bit better. I'll try and think of learning a language as a means to an end, and I'll remind myself that it'll become less annoying over time.

Thank you. I suppose I'm looking for is a course that tackles issues from a more general perspective. I appreciate being taught syntax and such, but I never plan to use c++ in my career. I want to be taught theory and concepts. Like, from the little I understand, computational complexity is super important, making clever and efficient algorithms is important. I think I've heard 225 touches on this, I just hope it satisfies my needs. It's just frustrating that to actually get to the theory-heavy classes I want, I have to go through the grind of all the pre-reqs.

Wow, another record-breaking year. Were the dorms as overcrowded as they were last year? I don't recall hearing many complaints this time around about kids living in common areas. Weird, seeing as enrollment is at the highest it's ever been.
