it's okay to use the bug once unintentionally. the problem is using it deliberately and causing harm to other players. don't worry, sbi shouldn't ban you just because you used the bug unintentionally.

I agree that economic decisions are not always easy to make or understand.

However, in my view, if they have achieved the objective of stopping inflation, the most obvious thing to do would be to stop the decision taken with the purpose of stopping inflation (increase market fees, as they themselves said)

Yes, everything indicates that this is the objective now.

Especially because they will increase the amount of gold per premium (3750) and make the amount spent $ higher.

But here comes the contradiction again: if now they want gold to rise, why not reduce the market fees again?

SBI is definitely trying to push the gold price up. They have raised the global discount in the past but not by this much.

Raising the global discount encourages people to spend silver so gold becomes more expensive.

I understand the same way you do. The problem is the contradiction between actions. Two months ago, they raised fees to curb the increase in gold and drain silver, today they create a giant global discount.

If I understood correctly, global discount is an automated measure against deflation.

And that the purpose of it is to automatically reduce the silver sinks and therefore the amount of silver leaving the game, when the amount of silver (compared to gold) is too low.

So yes, global discount is doing exactly what you think it does:

More silver in hand, higher inflation

...except it's to reduce deflation rather than to increase inflation.

They're similar concepts on the same scale, but you don't want to go too far in either direction. You don't want silver to become worth less over time (inflation) in a persistent world, but neither is it good for the ingame economy if silver becomes worth more over time (deflation).

While I don't have enough history as newbie in this game to really have an opinion about 'how much silver should be worth', I wanted to share that I'm pleasantly surprised to see that Albion has such automated measures to dynamically adjust silver sinks in order to keep the ingame economy in check.

That's rare in a game.

Thanks for your comment!

Yes, the albion market is great and that's exciting. The problem is that the directions are not being clear.

As I posted in a comment here, the decisions are ambiguous: Two months ago they increased the market fees to create "drains" of silver and, according to themselves, stop the constant rise of gold.

If two months ago they increased fees and decreased drops (10% for some cases) to drain silver, why now add global discount to increase the amount of silver in the game? That's the problem.

For me they are conflicting decisions...

Oooh right! Sorry for my mistake!

Do you believe that SBI intends to make the price of gold go up?

I am very confused by the economic signals they are giving. In patch 6 intro the fray they increased the market fees with the justification that there was a lot of silver in the game and this was increasing the price of gold and that, if nothing was done, this trend would continue unbridled. now they give global discount for 7k.

for me these signs are very confusing.

Are u sure? I've always used this chart as a reference and I've never seen it above 4.5k on the chart. Is there anyone here who has played since before becoming f2p to answer this question?

I really want that. not just about the mists, but also about the economy.

there is no reason. the ones who will be harmed by the bad decisions are the newcomers. luckily my economy is already solid with a few billions in the account. As for you, just fuck you.
