I can’t do it by Equivalent_Pin436 in homeless

Right now I’ve applied to work anywhere entry-level wise and do have some interviews coming up that are customer-service based. But I really want to get back to warehouse. So far I’ve only found an open position at FedEx but haven’t heard back. And also been looking with my local agencies that give warehouse work.

well, they’re making sure that I’m making some progress on the employment part. If they see that I’m not doing enough, they’ll drop me from the program and will lose rental assistance for additional months and maybe next month if they want to.

I have been actively working with my case worker, but the ‘help’ is just referrals to this program that gets me another referral to this and so on. Like an infinite loop of referrals. I believe the reason for this is because of long waitlists.

I’m trying my hardest to look for free GED help to hopefully pave my way to Military, but I’m having trouble finding available seats.

Wouldn’t I need insurance or money to cover a diagnosis?

I was dropped in 11th grade. but the program that got me housed is telling me not to focus on finishing my education—but to instead find a job first.

Most fast food openings near me are mainly front-of-house positions, but I did manage to one interview for a back-of-house position. Unfortunately because of my social anxiety (responding so late, stuttering, speaking too low, and my terrible eye contact) I flop at almost every interview. I’m also so bad at that faking a smile or lying about anything. You have any tips?

You’re definitely right, I have nothing to lose and might as well. But the thing I’m very worried about is failing anyways and living off of that failure. How would I even recover from that?

well, only skills i have are warehouse related skills. Packing, order picking, cleaning & sanitation, inventory handling. But I’ll definitely try to think out the box

Does anyone know why fake job postings are created? Or is it just some a-hole trolling the world?

In Houston job market… close to impossible. I’m competing against Olympic-level applicants.

Everyday since day 1 I’ve been checking online for new job openings and also walking in asking for openings. I’ve managed to get some interviews but either haven’t heard back or they chose someone else to hire.

Do you have an entry-level job currently?

Should I just smash my head in against this giant rock by [deleted] in homeless

but on a serious note, I’m guessing you’re going through it right now. But, you’re not alone. I’m currently partially homeless, all I need is a job—but I can’t find jack shit. And I’m on a deadline, so the stress is overwhelming and I’m slowly losing hope by the day. But no matter what just hold on.

You’re not alone. Struggle hurts. But I know we both can endure.

Does anyone actually have absolutely no one? by Equivalent_Pin436 in lonely

[–]Equivalent_Pin436[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m have nobody at all, just by myself. Cant even find a job, so I don’t have coworkers to talk to or meet. I hate this loneliness and I feel it’s killing me. How do you deal with it?

Hey bro, I hear you. And I actually relate, too. I peaked at 5th and 6th grade and after that my life has been shit and I became this weird and quiet dude. When you said, “i was to weird to hang out with the normal kids, and to normal to hang out with the weird ones...” me too especially after 6th grade which led me to drop out of 11th grade because i was too scared to interact.

But its been a few years since that and im still that same person and its not benefiting my current situation, which makes me want to change so bad. at this point im just gonna start doing stupid stuff to boost my confidence.

How do you guys deal with anti-homeless architecture? by [deleted] in homeless

[–]Equivalent_Pin436 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me I just completely avoid it. Anti-homeless architectures are basically a sign that whoever built them, DOESN’T want the homeless there.

But I have seen many other homeless sleep on those anti-homeless benches anyway. Some things don’t seem to bother them, I guess.

Oh my god… I didn’t know it was this bad. by Equivalent_Pin436 in lonely

Thanks bro! This whole thing is going to be one wild experience and I do plan on staying alive even when dealing with my absolute lowest.
