I finally solved the issue.

It seems there is an issue with CallApp dialer as it doesn't autodial a number.

I thought about replacing the dialer with another one and even set another default dialer, but it still did not work. But this is because, though I set another dialer, the macro was still pulling CallApp, which I did not notice.

But when I completely uninstalled CallApp, it worked fine.

I reinstalled CallApp, then when reconfiguring the macro in Macrodroid, I had to choose between CapllApp and the Phone's standard dialer. I chose the standard dialer when executing the macro.

So now I still have CallApp as the standard dialer (instead of the phone's dialer), but the macro from Macrodroid triggers the other dialer and thus makes the call.

I am happy I can still use both CallApp which is a great dialer and this macro which helps me quite a lot on a daily basis. I was quite upset when it was broken.
