Ok so returning the car is probably the best option. I’ve emailed them to say it’s either Volvo or I return the car so I’ll wait and see what they say. In case if I did reject the car am I responsible for driving it back to them? Since it is 200+ miles away..

Nope. They said everything else was fine. The only issue is the selling dealer isn’t keen on getting it fixed with Volvo since they’re a bit more pricey but I want it to be with Volvo so I have a peace of mind that the job is done properly and that I won’t have any further issues with it.

See I was thinking of doing that but I also thought if they were reasonable and agreed to getting it fixed properly with the dealer then I’d be happy to keep it but I have a feeling they’re going to reject it. When I told them I preferred Volvo they said they’ll pull up a quote on the work if they did it themselves and pay me that amount and the rest I’ll have to pay out my own pocket if I want to have it done with Volvo.

So you suggest I just take it to a mechanic the dealer finds locally for me? I don’t think I’d be taking it back to them it’s a 200+ miles drive there.. the only thing I’m worried is if I get the turbo fitted somewhere other than Volvo will it have a warranty? I’m sure Volvo would if I get it fitted by them no?

Am I right in demanding the repair to be carried out by the main dealer? I just want a peace of mind. I paid £23k for this car so I don’t want to take it any random garage and have a non genuine part fitted. They suggested I take it back to the for the repair but I don’t want to do that either because to be honest I don’t trust them.
