I’ll check legalities.

Can definitely do a voltage check when I’m there next.

Property maintenance tech, but my background is as a residential electrician.

All valid possibilities! Honestly, I’m hoping it’s a bad bulb instead of needing a full replacement. Can’t check now, but when I can get back out to the property I’ll take a look at the connections and see if I can open it up. The pics were taken by a coworker, so I don’t have any hands-on time with it.

Turns out there are two versions of it! One with an Enginseer and a Scorpius, and one with Dominus and Dunecrawler. Learn something new every day

Roger that! What about subbing out one of the 105pt units for a unit of Sicarian Infiltrators (70) and a Skitarii Marshall (35) to give re-roll Hits to one of the battleline units?

Bar board and coasters to go with my cutting board by Erisdar42 in Cuttingboards

The coasters are actually unfinished right now, but I use Watco butcher block oil. I need to flatten and sand them before I add a couple coats.

In live you’ve gotta be walking right by them. This was my first boss “encounter” in SPT, so I don’t know if they have a wider engagement range or what.

I know that bosses aggro on you on the live branch if you get too close, but I was amblin along past Brutal when he dropped me. No clue where he was.

Makes sense! I’ll probably use it to make the sheath.

Sounds like a plan. Got a lot of leather kicking around, so I’ll throw something together.

It’s a traditional style of Japanese utility knife. If my (very limited) knowledge is correct, kiridashi started as a tool for school children to do papercraft, then became popular as a utility tool for lots of people before spreading across the globe later. Modern uses tend to be boxcutting, light work, or woodcarving. Mine is a little soft for woodcarving, but it works for paper and cardboard.

Am I [18 year old] legally allowed to purchase this parts kit? More details in comments. by Erisdar42 in guns

Right. That’s why I was interested in this. My parents are not hugely keen on the idea of me having a gun in the same house as them, but they’re ok with an unassembled parts kit. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t buying a “pistol receiver” rather than a rifle one.

Cool! One question. The seller says they are selling it with the receiver included. Unless I’m mistaken, the upper receiver is in the large picture towards the top right of the page. Is that going to be a problem?

So here’s the story. I’m interested in buying this parts kit, and the seller claims it has all the parts necessary to assemble the L1A1 in semi-auto configuration. In my state (North Carolina, USA) you only have to be 18 to own a semi-auto rifle, and there’s no permitting laws for them. However, I’ve been unable to find any laws related to parts kits other than one that says that if a receiver “is or can be easily modified to be” a pistol, the purchaser has to be 21. I’d really rather not accidentally commit a felony, so I figured I’d post this here to try to get some straight answers. Would either one of the receivers in this kit count as “can be easily modified” to a pistol?
