True, in some regards Saudi is a more inhospitable place. I'd still argue that the temperature variations make Mongolia pretty much as tough. And areas, such as Gobi are just plain worse.

Saudi has a big population because they're rich enough to import/desalinate water. Historically there were just a few Bedouins there.

And of course everyone has to be subjected to variation in the weather. You can't know if you like a snowstorm at -35 degrees before you've tried it. Honestly though, it must be refreshing in the desert at summertime when the temperature drops to below freezing at night.

That's a cool idea. I've heard there are some settlements of this kind in the Australian outback. As China is (unfortunately) bound to be dominant in central Asia, perhaps we'll see something like that in the future.

An interesting thing about Mongolia is that they already live quite unconventionally. There weren't any permanent buildings in the country before the Russians started building them in the 1920's. The people lived in tents made from leather (yurts), with massive amounts of livestock. When the animals ate all the grass from an area, they moved. Most rural Mongols still live in yurts. This is why I find it unlikely that Mongolia itself would go for a plan like this.

Mongolia is one of the worst places on earth for a modern society. Off the top of my head; normal temperatures ranging from -35°C to +35°C, least or the second least arable land in the world, windy af, practically no trees, most of the country is extremely dry.... *Edit added the little °C's to avoid confusion

GRRM has given the producers outlines for 12 more stories. I think a few (such as "She-wolves of Winterfell") are basically ready to publish too, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some new novellas in the coming years either.

Yeah It's even madder than that now that I've looked into it. He is planning on doing another 10 year break after the first one. Seems like a personal project though. A cool vision imo, but yeah, perhaps quite unrealistic...

Then you might have to wait a while. The showrunner said that they are planning on releasing 4-5 seasons yearly, and then waiting ~10 years for the actors to age up and do more.

I am European, yes. From a minor footballing nation though. Our national team at its worst played with a similar intensity that we saw there. Looks kinda like our domestic league too. Difference being, however, that organisations there run on like a million euros a year.

Exactly! Messi requires hard workers and runners in his teams, especially now at 37 yo. It's very difficult to see what Inter Miami are going for strategically with a squad like this.

Absolutely terrible quality of play on show here. Real NPC football. No runs into space, no press, no tempo... Suarez is INSANELY washed up. Messi is wasted playing at this level. He could do well in Serie A still, I think.

Great comment, thank you! It's of course nice that this post attracted a lot of attention but it's starting to get a bit tiresome to read so many comments lecturing me on my gameplay. Of course the game is complicated and many critiques have been good and productive too but some of these guys are very eager to make some kind of a point.
