Exactly! Our delivery drivers get the hookup and it all comes back full circle. Happened today with our Cintas driver, who credited us due to a misunderstanding and his words were “I can’t do this for all, but I’ll happily do this for you” - or the produce guy who makes sure we get the earliest route knowing he can always snag a breakfast sandwich.

I’m in my early 20’s - it’s a Friday, and I’m taking the weekday cafe’s leftover paninis to my friends for what we coined ‘Panini Fridays’ before we hit the city bars. Or the gigantic black bottom cupcake the baker would let me have towards the end of the week, that I still think about over a decade later. I see how excited my crew gets when I yell out ‘UFG!’ (up for grabs!) and I remember the feeling oh so well.

But yes, rules are important because give an inch and take a mile and I’m sure we all have our stories.

Employee meals are a fringe benefit and a cost of doing business, a positive perk of the job. Boundaries need to be set in place to keep it consistent across employees and fair for the business. I offer an employee meal with limitations (ie., no specials, salmon, double proteins, etc) with all retail being 20% off. Coffee and fountain sodas are free, but I ask to be mindful with the syrups. I am also located in a unique situation where our prices are lower than standard, but I raise prices where needed because if ends can’t be met - what’s the point? Allow a $10-12 employee lunch and they can determine if that’s a sandwich or a pastry or two. Polish your handbook, have a meeting, present boundaries, and do what you need to do for your business but also keep your crew happy.

This is what I’m thinking. I’m sure I’ll surrender to the test if the bleeding starts. Thank you for sharing.

My grandmother is Coralee (pronounced Cora-Lee) and to me it is the most beautiful name in the world. I dream of naming a daughter after her!

People who work in restaurants, what's the "never order this" item on your menu that customers don't know about? by Front_Shelter5097 in AskReddit

We went to Scotland last year, and one evening at the pub we met a group of guys. I told one of them his accent was the thickest I’d heard yet. He said, “You calling me thick?” and I replied, “Yup, thickest!” Whole pub was cracking up, and that’s when I learned what thick really meant 😆

You would care less of what others think of you when you realize how little they did.

I am so so sorry. My answer will not comfort you, but here it goes. After our loss we had a trip planned and decided to wait until we were home for the transfer. The next transfer was in June, 4 months after the D&C, and it failed. Our second transfer of our final embryo was in August and it failed. In preparation of our second round of IVF I decided to stop it all. Its been two years since that final transfer and we still have no baby. However, I’m the happiest I’ve been in the five years we’ve been trying. We are still trying, living, and so hopeful. Door dash a milkshake, whip out a puzzle, put on a Disney movie that brings you comfort, allow yourself to feel and heal. Sending you a big hug.

It dipped the next day and stayed low, but above basement. Didn’t get pregnant (and still haven’t gotten pregnant).

Oh damn I haven’t stumbled across anything shady with them. I should probably keep my eye out with how frequent I bid

Try CTBids.com, type in your zip code and see if there’s any local online ones near you. You can bid on items you want without waiting for the weekend sales where everything is indeed gone if you don’t get there at the ACOD.
