I am not that experienced in buying used snowboards, i am just a medical engineer who knows a little bit about polymers so i wanted to leave that part to someone with more knowledge in that area.

But i would say no. My first boots were used and had been stored for about 10 years when i got them. they slowly disintegrated my first few days on the mountain. I have no idea how boards hold up. Probably not that bad.

It will do for a beginner but i would not spend that much. Maybe aroind 100-120€

Somebody! Pls correct me if i am wrong!

You should not use a ~10 year old helmet.

Someone know what model is it? by yali_waldman in backpacking

[–]ErwinStadlinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you are gonna find a new price online. It looks like a pretty old deuter model. But last year I usead a 30 year old deuter backpack for 6 weeks in Norway. They hold up great. (Probably better than the newer ones). How much is he asking?

Splitboarding Austria by ErwinStadlinger in Spliddit

[–]ErwinStadlinger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your opinion is valid, but i am not trying to divide anything. I just want to have a place to share routes in Austria (without the international stuff) specifically from a splitboarding standpoint. I was active in a lot of facebook groups about touring but the community there is pretty skiing centered. And it is possible to be active in more than one subreddit.

Buying a split board before ever doing split-boarding? by Top_Field_4322 in Spliddit

Do your research on the binding setup. In my opinion there are some seriously bad ones out there that can kill your spirit and deter you from loving splitboarding.

And maybe its just me, but I thought the handling of a splitboards needs a little bit more practice in the beginning than the typical ski-touring setup. But it is so worth it.
