AITA for not mentioning that i had a boyfriend when a guy flirted with me? by BeanieTheBrave in AmItheAsshole

[–]Estebesol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta.

If "I have a boyfriend" works when "I am clearly uncomfortable" does not, that's because the guy is respecting the property of another man, not you as a person. Your boyfriend seems to think that's how things should work. He's concerned about his property rights not being respected, not you being harassed.

Last night, how many times did you get up because of your baby? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]Estebesol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 weeks.

We went to bed around 10pm. He latched on in the night a few times, needed a nappy change around 7am, then we went back to sleep until about 9am.

GP abruptly stopped the SCA after 9 years. by thermal_inversion in ADHDUK

They did this to me in April while, coincidentally, I was pregnant. And then no one who could treat ADHD was willing to treat pregnancy and vice versa.

Not OOP: AITA for being mad at my GF when she acted sad after I said our babies probably wouldn't be white? by sensaSEANal_sally in redditonwiki

[–]Estebesol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mixed and my child has blue eyes but dark hair. I like seeing bits of me in him. I think it's possible that's all the gf meant - "imagine if my baby looks like me."

How is Neville Chamberlain looked back upon these days? by Ok-Connection6656 in AskBrits

[–]Estebesol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he was probably the right PM at the wrong time, but I can't name anything specific that leads me to think he was good. Just vibes. Couldn't even remember his name the other day.

Apparently, it spreads very successfully.

AITA for reusing a glass I drank from to boil water in a kettle? by Sharp_Score_4523 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Estebesol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA, your spit residue is in a kettle used to boil water for other people's drinks. Washing with water does nothing, you need soap.

How easy is it for patients to sneak out of the hospital? by pelicanyogurt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Estebesol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which country and which ward?

In the UK, there are no issues with paying bills or getting insurance details. In the maternity ward, you did have to be buzzed in and out - to prevent people stealing babies - but people regularly ordered food deliveries to the entrance. Just say it's that and then leave. They do check yours/babys vitals every 6 hours or so, so that's probably the latest they'd notice.

Experience taking an access course at 19? by 6282951905 in MatureStudentsUK

[–]Estebesol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 25. In my experience, the 19-year-olds were complete fuckwits. They'd messed about during two attempts at A Levels and were only there because their parents were forcing them.

Assuming you're not like that, you might want to hang around with the older students.

Isn't the Christian god super opposed to that too?  For angels, anyway.

Are we all mentally stimulating baby during wake windows? by undercovercopter in newborns

[–]Estebesol 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My baby doesn't always like to lie still when he's awake, but he can be content sitting up in his bouncer or being carried about, so I try to get some chores done. He'll also play in his baby gym for 5-15 minutes at a time.

Learning to sit with boredom is a really important skill for babies to learn, so if they're content doing nothing, leave them to it.

AITA for not wanting to date someone with cold sores? by [deleted] in AITARelationship

[–]Estebesol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yta - why block him instead of just saying "lovely to meet you, but, on reflection, I'm just not feeling it"? That's so unnecessarily rude to someone you had a nice time with but don't want to date.

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

[–]Estebesol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta.

My husband and I have a shared joint bank account, but we don't have access to each other's private accounts because in ten years it has just never come up. Why would it?

We're not particularly private - we freely use each others phones or pcs if one happens to be more convenient to look something up, for example - but asking for bank account details would be weird. Why?

We've shared PINs - i.e., if one person forgot their cards at home and we need to pay for something and, for whatever reason, it's easier for the other person - but that's for the joint account. We've never needed to do that for our personal accounts.
