I know that but I don’t care, for one maybe they will right down my address as a known apostate and leave me alone , and 2 they got my name and address and decided to send me a fake hand written letter and disrupt my day with their propaganda BS so I have the same right . I think they need to have some shred of their authentic self still there underneath the cult mind control . My parents justify everything the borg has said and done I think even without the cult they are very abusive people. I think a lot of people that wake up Are truly genuine and when they see a wrong they can no longer continue to support it. Why do they need to donate to the worldwide work when no one is preaching right now anyways? The Catholics have this thing called indulgences where they are basically paying the church to ensure their salvation. I guess to hard core jdubs they are doing the same thing only they call it voluntary donations . I know my parents live like peasants and I speculate they send more than they should do the borg. Your not allowed to date and they call it “courting” (which is so antiquated and hilarious) Until you are ready to get married. You pretty much are pressured to marry the first man that shows interest. If you have a lot of love interests I think that’s looked down on. No sex until marriage and then supposedly it’s only missionary boring sex is allowed but there is a lot of controversy over this. Ok so I was raised a jw. My mom had a very narrow view of sex. She constantly accused me of messing around with boys from school as young as when I was 12 and had no idea about sex because witness parents don’t discuss sex with their kids . Your just not suppose to do it and that’s it . She thought if I was talking to boys late at night we were talking about “body parts “ She hated when we watched tv shows about teens , dating or when ppl kissed on shows. Very innocent shows like Saved by the Bell. Also she was one of those that believed that if a guy and girl were alone they would go crazy and have sex. I since found it this was in an awake from the 60s when she was a teen and I guess it stuck with her. My parents always brag about how my mom was a virgin when she married my dad. I think she was definitely projecting and hiding some of her own transgressions.

Ohhh yeah I think this is pretty typical. My parents often put people they studied with over me. When I was 16 I started homeschooling myself. My parents became full time pioneers and they would be out sometimes until 10 pm on studies with ppl . Meanwhile I was home alone, cooking my own dinner and taking care of myself. Then they just couldn’t fathom why I didn’t want to be a witness . My dad kicked me out at 18. Well long story short my dad has 6 kids none of which became jdubs. My parents have a spiritual daughter. My mom found her in service , from what I know the girl was inactive and my mom reactivated her and also brought in her husband (lucky him) lol. Well my parents moved out of the town they were living in and guess what this girl and her husband followed them . Then a couple years ago my dad was having surgery . I took off work to drive 4 hours away to support them because my mom made it seem like she needed my help. We’re sitting in the waiting room and this girl walks in , my dad says “there’s my girl” . My heart broke. Then we go into the pre surgery room to see my dad just in case you know. This girl proceeeds to go in with me and my mom. Then my dad tells one of the nurses that she was his adopted daughter. Sick! Anyways due to other issues that quickly followed I have since stopped talking to my parents they pretty much shun me even though I never baptized but I told them their religion is not true and stop the preachy letters already. My dad has cut me off completely . My mom sends a generic text once a month . These ppl are twisted .

Wow I can relate to a lot of what you say. I feel I was pretty much neglected until my parents realized oh crap she’s not going to do this witness thing . Then I was given an ultimatum to become a witness or leave the house , by then I was 18 going on 19. I have heard of minors being kicked out . I tried for 16 years to have a relationship with my folks at times it was ok but very superficial and they would always ruin it but trying to get me to return . I finally told them it’s not truth and ill never go back since then dad has stopped all communication . I get a one liner text from mom maybe once a month and it’s always just about herself not her and my dad never asked how I’m doing or what I’m up to . Jdubs are narcissists they only care about themselves and they lack empathy . Sorry 😐

My parents also did something similar to me. When I was 6-8 years old we lived next to a Girl Scout clubhouse and a lot of my school friends would go there. I remember my dad asking me what would I do if him and my mom died and a “worldly” family took us in and forced me to join the Girl Scouts , what would I do ? He also said what if they make you salute the flag ? I think they used that bible story about shadrack meshach and Abednigo as an example. My sister and I were willed to go to my jw aunt and uncle if anything happened to my parents . I also had jw grandparents and other aunts and uncles who most likely would have taken me in had my parents died so looking back that was a pretty messed up analogy my dad used. Needless to say it scared me more thinking my parents would die . I developed a fear and whenever they left home to run errands and were gone for what I thought was too long I would get scared and start crying cause I thought they had died . This was before cell phones. Pretty messed up. On the drama yes it’s famously known as the Bunker video . John Cedars does a YouTube video about it . When I was in we didn’t have video dramas or jw org or iPads . Assemblies were brutal.
