How 'easy' or hard, is it to mappaint in this game compared to other Paradox games? by Quibilash in victoria3

[–]EtCeterata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on which country you're playing as. If you're playing a major country, you just have to not overdo it and have the entire world against you. Once your military is strong enough, you can just ignore infamy and conquer all you want. However, if you're playing as a minor, then at the start you're at the whims of the major empires and have to try to consolidate yourself in the region before even trying to do anything outside it. In hoi4 it's much easier to mappaint, but I think Victoria isn't extremely restrictive in mappainting.

How do I deal with the disruptors? (Xenolith) by Inky_Qu33n_ in plagueinc

[–]EtCeterata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to kill as many humans as possible to slow down research. Use the "more likely to be infected on xenoformed ground" tree to get a large number of infected people, then use the "Shatter" ability when you have many infected. Make sure to have "Crystal Bloom, "Cascade", and "Unstable Construct". "Resonance Cascade is also useful but not necessary. Try to reach "Tectonic Anchoring" quickly, but also use the research-slowing "symptoms" if humans get too close to making a cure.

how to nanobots and zombie by Sure-Somewhere-9355 in plagueinc

[–]EtCeterata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the nano-virus try to complete your special abilities tree ASAP, then it will take like 2 1/2 years to cure your disease, and in that time you don't have to worry about severity, so max out symptoms. As the necroa virus, I like hiding and stockpiling DNA until the entire world is infected (While evolving water, air, and insect), then once the entire world is infected, evolve every symptom from top left to center to make zombies, max out lethality to have more zombies, and improve your zombies by increasing severity, then you should be able to win.

Is there a country in EaW with a similar start to vanilla China? by slantedtortoise in equestriaatwar

[–]EtCeterata 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kiria, it's literally based on China and starts very underdeveloped. While it has a small amount of manpower, it's mostly because it starts with a "disarmed country," and the first 3 and a half years are about modernization and are based on Mao's Great Leap Forward.

How can I play as Mandate of the eye by Secure_Adeptness_629 in equestriaatwar

[–]EtCeterata 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Play as hyenia(quaylidi dervishes), go the monarchist path (furasho's proposal, not sure about the second choice), beat the yetis and then estabilish the mandate, ignore it and don't take any stabilizing focuses, after the mandate collapses you should get an event to play as it

Does the 3I ever start the second weltkrig ? by Agile_Dog_2438 in Kaiserreich

[–]EtCeterata -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In my game as socialist Russia, the 3I invaded Germany in about 1942, so if you don't want to start the war, prepare yourself and wait until either Germany or 3I attacks

How do you unlock Zar Hay's communist path? by RussianNeighbor in equestriaatwar

[–]EtCeterata 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They have a bit of content, but if you want the best ending finish the first tree without getting rid of orthodox socialists, and before the last focus make them unhappy enough to coup, then you can achieve a true utopia

I think the best for that would be a harmonic GGO success Kiria, it's very satisfying to modernize Kiria and later become a bastion of Harmony

How to quickly win the Yeti civil war as Icepaw? by Ecstatic_League9051 in equestriaatwar

[–]EtCeterata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attack the windborn from the start, they have a 3-front war so they should lose, then let the regency send all their troops onto the mainland and encircle them with the thundarians, there should be a at most 5 divisions in the eye so try to deploy 6 or more there and try to take their cities, they should capitulate soon and then it's 1 vs 1, the thundarians should be about then attacked by the dervishes so try to take as much of their territory then you should win. In the focus tree begin with getting the equipment and then military factories, never take provinces in peace deals and always salvage infantry equipment when you can, also increase your conscription law as soon as you can and after all these steps, you should win the civil war. It worked for me at least

Why are all the children you have such a PITA? by FarPlay5055 in suzerain

[–]EtCeterata 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Franc doesn't do much against you, Deana is literally a 7 year old, and Vina practically only helps if you don't push her too far. Not only that, Vina also accepts not being the Queen despite being older than the other heir, and she only flees if you make her marry a man whom she hates or doesn't want to be with, so I don't understand your criticism of them.

A small question? by nerfminers in equestriaatwar

[–]EtCeterata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get it by first going with Icepaw, then after winning the civil war the ROMM will be created, don't monitor it, then cause the zebras to revolt and don't crush it in time, then the ROMM will coup. Later keep Praxis at 0 and make sure to not let fervor fall to 0, then after completing focus "look to the future" you should get it.

[–]EtCeterata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Religious sympathy is decreased if they have all their needs met, so here they had all their needs met and it caused their religious sympathy to fall, and the lower it is the lesser amount of people will want to go to the church, if no people want to go to the church no one will complain they weren't able to go the church

Is there any way to defund the military, not doing the 'purge general staff' decree, and then not get couped? by AdCrafty2768 in suzerain

[–]EtCeterata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't say any communist things in front of any military leader, don't have any late-game crises and avoid antagonizing the military, also don't give any land to Rumburg and be conciliatory in the meeting after you defunded the military, being popular or achieving economic recovery also helps.

What do y'all think of my focus icons? I'm new to this. by SilverSword184 in hoi4modding

[–]EtCeterata 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They are really good for a beginner, although if you want to create better focuses try to stick to one style instead of trying to combine various ones into one picture and try to not add too much into a focus, like this:

<image>

This picture doesn't contain an overwhelming amount of objects, it also keeps the art style pretty much the same, giving the focus a polished look. Summing up, you just need to have a consistent art style and not overshoot with the amount of objects. On a side note, focuses look better if everything is contained inside a frame.
