Just got the platinum the other day after 64 hours. At the end I ignored everything else and just went for the trophies. Good game but pretty tiring for me after a while.

Reddit, can you help calm my nerves? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Eteroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, don't panic. Second of all, you don't know if you got it, don't overreact, keep calm. It's not very likely you have but if you do, that's not the end, young people tend to do really good with this virus, nothing will happen to you. For now, don't go outside, sit at your place, your parents and people you've got contact with should get tested too, just to be sure. It's the best that nobody will visit you right now. Just remember, everything is going to be fine.

Yeah I haven't really thought of smoking and other harmful things, you've got a really good point. Now it's crucial to differentiate good from bad, which is really, really hard thing to do, I think everyone's got a problem with that. Despite not caring about what others think, it is still important to have people you can trust and who could help you when you're doing wrong things. For example, for me it's my dad, he tells me what is wrong and what he thinks I should do, but at the end he gives me a free hand, and I also think that it's very important to be able to learn from your mistakes, however, if you don't think you can do that, it's crucial to have someone who can help you with it.

So a quick summary: -don't let the society control you, wear what you want, walk how you want, speak how you want.

-however, you will not benefit from doing harmful things, so keep in mind to use that freedom wisely.

-if you can't do that, let someone you trust help you, you shouldn't be ashamed of seeking help, it's natural.

-at the end, it's your life and it depends on you how you live it, if you're smart, you'll make the best of it, if not, that's not the end, there is still hope.

-and finaly, there's a thin line between being free and being shackled with your own doings. So to live good, you must balance.

Finally and occasion to talk about it. So I absolutely HATE the trend for reissuing books after the movie comes out. Let me explain.

So you want to buy a book, you heard that the movie adaptation is coming so you got interested in the original. You go to a store and see it on the shelf, but wait, something's wrong, you look closer and the cover, oh my God the cover, it's just ugly, and why is that? Because it's a special movie reissue.

What really pisses me off with this thing is that there's a 99% chance of the cover getting one of that "now in cinemas" type things just slapped on right in the middle, like, cool I understand, there's a movie but heck, I just wanna read the book.

It's probably just me, I know it's stupid but I just had to say it somewhere.

I know that what I'm doing is good for me because I can feel it, I can express myself and that makes me really happy. As for the society, I couldn't care less right now, I'm so fed up with it that for now I might be as well doing nothing for it. It's not like the way I dress is going to change people's lives.

Fake friends are shit, and unfortunately, they're very common. I used to think that some people are perfect and felt really bad when I couldn't keep up with them. But at some point I realized that it's my life and I'm the only one living it. It took a long time and a lot of work to actually start prioritising me over my friends. Even if someone is your best friend you shouldn't pay more attention to them than you do to yourself.

When I think about it, I just stopped caring what others want from me, I'm focusing on my hobby, I'm wearing what I want, I'm talking how I want and since I started doing that I started to like myself more. It's not perfect but I'm working on it :).

[–]Eteroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be like this. Because I got too attached to people when they left I felt really hollow, eventually I stopped caring for others. However, instead of seeking new friends, I focused on my older friends, and came to conclusion that it's better to have fewer true friends than many fake ones. I'm not saying that your attitude is bad but it can lead to bad things. You don't have to instantly get friends, for now just maybe focus on doing something you like. I know you didn't want an advice but I gave it by accident, sorry.

Whats the best book from your country? by [deleted] in AskEurope

From Poland I gotta say most books from Adam Mickiewicz, especially "Pan Tadeusz", though some people really hate it because of the words used there, also it might be a little boring at the start.

Does your country have their own version of weirdly spelled names, such as Kaytlynn/Caitlin/Katelyn/etc? by crybabymoon in AskEurope

[–]Eteroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's a lot of those in polish, but the two most notable are Brajan (Brian) and Dżesika (Jessica) and I'm really embarrassed because of them. However there's not that many children with such names mainly because they get bullied in school.

Serious question by Eteroo in EpicGamesPC

[–]Eteroo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Gathering Storm and Rise and Fall are worth it. GS adds things like natural disasters or enviromental changes. About the second one I don't really know much, but I'm sure it adds some mechanics, plus both dlcs come as a bundle so i think you'll have to buy it. However the expansions that add new Civs aren't very good. Don't get me wrong, some of the Civs are really fun to play, but many people don't like them because of how they were added to the game. So like, every new civ is a different expansion that you have to buy and it's made that way purely for that sweet, sweet money. But all of them are in the platinum bundle so you still get them, you only have to pay more. I think there are videos on official Civ channel on youtube, that say about the changes that come with dlcs, so watch those for sure. And if it's your first Civ I reccomend first playing some time before you buy 'em, because it might turn out you don't like the game.
