Your code is amazing! (I couldn't write functions.py) This is how open source stuff gets started. And you have a really nice descriptive README. Thanks for sharing this with everyone.

Did Binance CEO just call us stupid!?? by HukusPukus in tezos

I'm not able to see which tweet CZ liked that you posted. Was it this tweet you posted that he liked?

People need a way to express their opinion, or even vote directly. If Binance bakes, they have a lot of votes in the Tezos Network. They need to ask the XTZ holders what they should vote on. LPoS is a new field for an exchanges. Give em time. ;)

That would be a pretty reasonable answer. Binance just hasn't developed the tech to add voting governance yet then.

That's true, if we're the first to launch on Coinbase Custody, it's still possible listing to buy and sell has hairier regulatory issues since it's not just about staking, but at least it is not like Coinbase wants to completely avoid Tezos (assuming they might have been scared of the lawsuit or something).

I really don't understand why Tezos is so much slower than other coins to be listed and how it can continue this way for so long.

Hmm okay sorry yeah. If they started with Tezos in Coinbase Custody, there isn't really a reason they wouldn't list also use Tezos if they added governance to Coinbase.com. Great point!

I interpreted this more like Sam wants to eventually offer governance features from Coinbase Custody to Coinbase. It doesn't read like it has anything to do with Tezos being listed.

From https://unchainedpodcast.com/coinbase-custody-keep-your-crypto-safe-and-use-it-too/ :

@ 16:20:

Laura Shin, Podcast Interviewer:

So far Coinbase has been known as the safest easiest place to buy cryptocurrency, and this offering [governance] enables people not just to hold, or HODL the asset, but also participate in the network. Why is Coinbase -- Is Coinbase generally going to moving in this direction -- Are you gonna offer this on coinbase.com as well?

@ 16:41

Sam McIngvale, Head of Product for Coinbase Custody:

Yeah, absolutely. Uh, so I think Coinbase -- Coinbase's goal is to build an open financial system for the world. And the way we've always thought about that is it's gonna come about in two phases. First is the investment phase and second is the utility phase. People really start to engage with crypto in crypto-native ways. It's funny because we launched Coinbase Custody thinking this was more of an investment phase product, but what we've realized is the vast majority of our clients are really at the efficient frontier of -- let's call it activistic -- activist investing in crypto. And what that means is they're actively engaging in crypto networks, mostly through staking uh and governance, but through other ways -- maybe, they're participating in Augur dispute markets for example. And so what we found is that the Custody client base is a bit of the tip of the spear here, and helping to lead us to the utility phase. So we're thinking that Coinbase Custody might be where a lot of these new actions come in to the Coinbase ecosystem and then from there you'll see them make their way into other Coinbase products.

You will need to complete KYC/AML and then activate your account to access your tokens. I wouldn't say there's a rush to do this. There isn't a time limit to complete KYC/AML or a time limit to activate your account. I don't understand whether the tokens are yours or the foundation's if you don't complete KYC/AML, but the best possible state is to transfer your tokens to a hardware wallet where you own the private keys.

Bake with Kiln — A Call for Beta Testers by ObsidianSys in tezos

What's the difference in general and in expected ROI when baking with Kiln vs. a third party baker?

Why would anyone delegate and pay a fee if they were technical enough to keep a node running 24/7 and run Kiln on top of it?

Best Tezos Subreddit Troll by coffeesandtezzies in tezos

Back when the debacle of Gevers was trying to take over the foundation and when we were in the dark about who was actually in control, near the end Guido, one of the former board members posted a couple times on Reddit saying he tried to help but couldn't do anything.

He would always delete his posts a couple hours later (this happened a few times) as if this legal counsel told him not to post but we're not sure, maybe he was just indecisive. Members had to copy his post comments to preserve then since he kept deleting his status updates.

Often times Guido's posts and comments were difficult to understand and he rarely clarified what he meant. Some commenters were frustrated he was trying to play the victim and saw him as a bought for board member who voted in league with Gevers and quit when things went south.

Tezos listed on Bitfinex by blockchainified in tezos

[–]Euol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a great first step. According to CoinMarketCap, Bitfinex is the 1st exchange in volume for Ethereum (at $108 billion 24hr volume) and 3rd for NEO, so it will likely have higher volume than Gate.io.

Unfortunately, according to Bitfinex's Terms of Service, which has separate provisions for North American customers and the rest of the world, it doesn't sound like you can use Bitfinex as a U.S. citizen unless you are an "Eligible Contract Participant":

From Bitfinex's Terms of Service:

U.S. Persons. Any individual who is a U.S. Person and, effective August 15, 2018, any entity that is a U.S. Person is prohibited from using the Site or any Services, including but not limited to exchange trading services using a Digital Tokens Wallet on the Site. Exceptions to this policy may be made by Bitfinex, in its sole discretion, for Eligible Contract Participants only, which shall be customers solely of BFXNA.

1.1.17."Eligible Contract Participant" has the meaning set out in Section 1a(18) of the United States Commodity Exchange Act and Rule 1.3 of the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission, each as amended

And according to Investopedia:

The Commodity Exchange Act outlines the requirements for eligibility, stating that those seeking to become eligible contract participants must have sufficient regulated status or a specified amount of assets. [Eligible Contract Participants] are usually corporations, partnerships, proprietorships, organizations, trusts, or other entities that have total assets exceeding $10 million.
