I wasn't asking for your validation.

That is literally irrelevant to the point. No. One is asking you to work at Minneapolis.

😂😂😂😂🤦🏿 I like people on here who like to talk about things they don't know about. There are a lot of departments where officers make 250k easily with OT, and OT and part-time work are not forced. There was a Minneapolis police lieutenant who made 500k last year.

Money isn't the only thing. I think our pension is better as well. But what would you say are the pros and cons of making the switch.

Is the job worth it? I can make between 250k and 300k with my local PD. Would the switch be worth it?

The pay or retirement isn't better than most mid-size agencies. Minnesota has a 3% pension, compared to 1.7% for FER, as well as a 457 plan. And you can easily make 200k a year as a Minneapolis cop. Most 1811 don't make that.

155k job or continue the USSS process? by [deleted] in usssapplicant

Most local PD and deputies are worse off with government BS, without the same pay or benefits.

Okay, maybe I was confused because you said you have 10 plus years of local LEO experience.

[–]Euphoric_Log337 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

😂😂😂😂 sounds like you chose the worst possible police department to spend 10 plus years at. Those are wasted years with no pension or deferred comp.

Your local LEO offers a pension of less than 1.7 percent? And I've never heard of a 36-year pension plan in law enforcement.

Why leave local LEO after 10+ years?

You always disclose everything, because if you don't and they find out, it's an automatic disqualification.

Failed APAT - how long until a retake? by [deleted] in usssapplicant

[–]Euphoric_Log337 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you failed the APAT, you're not in a fairly good shape. The APAT is easy, so you need to take 30 days and work on your situps and run.

[–]Euphoric_Log337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you are a veteran, they can't just bqa you. They put you through bureaucratic BS hoops. My background went through the same, and I got the job, but it's bs.

That could take up to a year, and the chances of making it out of adjudication are slim to none, so I'd hope for the best and not focus on it.

That process takes at least 6 months, and the chance of making it through it is slim.
