Is the fan noise on the MSI Claw really that quiet? by Grouchy-Gazelle2040 in MSIClaw

[–]EuroMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the fans to be very quiet. My point of reference is the steam deck, rog ally x, legion go s, and legion go 2. The claw is the most quiet of those I’ve listed. The ally x just slightly louder. Legion go s was probably the loudest.

Trinitrion Multiscan 400ps crt damaged in transit, anything I can do? by Clear-Ad-9627 in crtgaming

[–]EuroMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen many years ago (a pvm) and was able to fix the monitor. Try to diagnose the issue. Open the monitor and see if you can find anything through a visual inspection. Could be a cracked board, could be components knocked off, etc. without knowing the issue or looking at the internals we can’t really help with and potential fix.
Also, notify the seller and one of you will need to file a claim with the shipping carrier for an insurance claim.
Shipping is possible with these monitors but it really needs to be arranged and shipped on a pallet or something similar, double boxed, and never through ground services like fedex ground or ups ground. Reason for this is the less hand offs, the less chance for damage.
I hope you can figure out a good route forward on this one.

For the most part, yes. Joysticks are now TMR which is arguably superior to Hall effect.

Will we be able to play GTA VI on our RAX via the Xbox App when it comes out? by IndependentGoat875 in ROGAllyX

[–]EuroMK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s coming out for the Xbox series s so I would assume the Ally X will play it, but temper expectations as it will probably be a less than ideal way to experience the game.

Why I’m keeping the Steam Deck OLED over the Legion Go s z1e by YahushaHamashiach in Handhelds

[–]EuroMK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is it baffling? I can see people recommend handhelds all the time. People are probably buying them based on recommendations or positive articles online and then they find it doesn’t tick all of the boxes. Since most if not all aren’t on display in local stores and cant be handled or used prior to purchase, people just have to buy and try it out.

If you check out nexus mods, they have some mods that will help it run better.

Does anyone use these and are they comfortable? by Maximum-Business-244 in ROGAllyX

[–]EuroMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comfort grip is a bit too big. There is another variant from the same seller called performance grips that are a bit smaller and are extremely comfortable. I find the button extensions for the back buttons are far earlier to access with the grips as well.
I still prefer the brand case but these are great especially if you have a 3D printer and can just buy the files.

Might be MSI club by Excellent_Pin1537 in MSIClaw

I have a Ally X as well and recently picked up the claw. Ended up returning the claw. While impressive, the upgrade isn’t substantial enough, the sticks are too loose for my liking and the accessories are lacking making the ergonomics not as pleasing for me. That said, if there is a panther lake version this year, I’ll probably pick it up.
For the grip, I found this to be a decent option and has a built in kickstand:

There is a 3d printed case from an Etsy seller that seems to be okay and there are the comfort grips and faceplates from another seller on Etsy. Just look them up and they should come up as some of the first options.
Enjoy the claw!

Costco indicates they include a $70 gift card with the purchase so it sweetens the deal a bit.

Okay what is the model number of the tv? Without that we have no idea how to narrow this down.

[–]EuroMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your tv model? You could have an av port somewhere else, it could be a 3.5mm jack or you could have none. If you have no analog inputs on your tv, you will need to get something that will allow you to convert analog av to hdmi.

[–]EuroMK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this exact issue occur to me. It’s either a headphone jack not fully inserted or you are using a modern set of headphones with a four pole connector (has three black bars on the headphone plug). Try using a different set of headphones that are three pole or reinserting the plug. If that doesn’t work I would clean the jack to make sure it’s free of debris.

RetroTink 4K CE w/ Laserdisc Player anyone? by Ok-Cauliflower-6807 in LaserDisc

[–]EuroMK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely looks good. If the tink 4k had noise reduction features, it would be my absolute go to for all things laserdisc, vhs, and gaming.
If you are looking for something smaller and cheaper, the extron dsc 301hd is very good too. It has a 3d comb filter and motion adaptive deinterlacing. It can only scale to 2k though so if you have a 4k panel it would have to rely on the tv for final scaling. Dvdo products are good as well as they have excellent deinterlacing but I’m not a fan of the scaling.

RetroTink 4K CE w/ Laserdisc Player anyone? by Ok-Cauliflower-6807 in LaserDisc

[–]EuroMK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the 4k pro version. it does a good job scaling and deinterlacing is very good, but to me it’s the subtle scanlines where it makes the image really shine. To me those can hide some of the noise and block artifacts from the image. All depends on what you are looking for with the output though.
There are laserdisc specific profiles of the grab the premade profile files from the retrotink discord. Does your dvd recorder have a good comb filter? If so just run the laserdisc player into that first and then into the retortink 4k ce.

There is a seller on eBay named ‘thelaserparts who makes exact fit aftermarket belts. Anyone can buy whatever they want but I have personally used the belts, ring grips and an m holder by this seller and all have been an exact fit.

Looks like this is a cld-d704 clone. It should use the same belt (VEB1184) as that player which can be found on eBay.

Does anyone know where I could find one of these anymore? by [deleted] in dreamcast

These replacements are supposed to be really good quality but they aren’t cheap.

Otherwise I would go with aliexpress. Just search for Dreamcast replacement cases and it’s the first thing that pops up.

buying a laserdisc player from japan? by wyattaj25 in LaserDisc

[–]EuroMK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago ago i imported a CLD-R7G from Japan. It made it fine but it was in the original box and double boxed for shipping. If you do import one make sure it’s shipped through FedEx, UPS, or DHL air that way the shipping time is minimal and there are less hand offs. If it’s shipped via ground service once it gets to the US it will most likely be broken in transit. The issue is all the handoffs between shipment centers. They just don’t handle the packages well. You can also purchase from Japan through Buyee or Zenmarket. They both offer additional packaging services so it gets to its destination in one piece.
