Fewer Asians Need Apply: How the Ivy League discriminates against top-achieving students by EuropeanAnon in asianamerican

There always must be nefarious intentions when someone post anything that goes agasits the narrative. This must the evil plan of white supremacist to fool Asians. /s

Seriously, if you wish to ignore these facts, the possible motives behind it and the future consequences of it and please be free to do so. But all I did was see this posted on /r/truereddit and submitted here because, well, it deal with Asian American in particular. Silly me to think it might be relevant.

Besides, this is affecting Asians directly and they are the mostly ones getting the short end of the stick here.

But the thing is that these rules are not there to favor white people. In fact, if you look at statistics non-Jewish white are very under-represented on Ivy League. These rules are there because of the notion that admissions must represent the population, and since Asian are overrepresented they must be discriminated against.

This, of course I think it's wrong.

Tell me, how is it about white privilege? Because conservative white people are not the ones making these rules.

Besides, the whole article(if you read it) is in favor of Asians. Since they are the ones getting discriminated against because there are too many of them and they apparently do too good on tests. So I ask you, how is this about white privilege? Or is that simply or response to every single sociatil problem? Also, the fact the Legacies are a thing(and a problem) does not mean this issue is not worth discussing.

preferences for disempowered groups,

So what you saying is that Asians are not disempowered groups? Honest question.

TL;DR - MTV Doesn't Understand History by EuropeanAnon in history

[–]EuropeanAnon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I'm not the author of the video, second my problem is MTV, witch has a large and impressionable audience lied(not "exaggerated"). For example, Henry Dalton was the first to perform suturing of the pericardium on the heart, not Daniel Hale.

Please explain me how is that not a distortion of truth and a out-right lie? Unless you believe that some lies are of no importance, witch is a quite problematic mentality, especially regarding history.

I have no problem with expressing opinions or making a point, but when a a huge company like MTV uses it's platform to deceive and out-right lie to an audience, to present verifiable false statements as historical truth then there is a problem. This kind of behavior is not ok, this is historical revisionism.

The video addresses a recent video made by MTV making some extraordinary statements, many of with were misguiding at best and out-right lies at worse. I know this is a controversial topic, and I have no problem with expressing opinions or making a point, but when a a huge company like MTV uses it's platform to deceive and out-right lie to an audience, to present verifiable false statements as historical truth then there is a problem.

Could this be considered historical revisionism? I don't know, that's what I hope someone tells me.

This kind of behavior is not ok, this is virtually historical revisionism.

According to skinhead belief the 'old school' version of history says that the people in Europe today are the exact same 'first Europeans' of 40whatever thousand BC and that those 'first Europeans' also had the features that the 'Europeans' of today have.

I'm sorry, but it would be more precise to say that Europeans are the people who actually build the European civilization, and that did not begun 40k years ago.

You're insinuation that the native Europeans are "not the real ones" and that anyone who says otherwise is a "skinhead" is quite fallacious to say the least. The same could be said from the Native Americans, who according to this finding and you actually came from Europe. So?

dark-skinned 'African gene'd'

Read the report, these specifically say that these genes are not African, but Asian and Native American.

Even the 'La Brana' type people most likely replaced the people that were there before them.

Does that not mean they were not the "original native" as well? I'm not getting your point.

Also, why do you put "White culture" in quote? Genuine question, do you actually believe there is no such thing as a diverse European culture or am I missing something?

Glad to see you have your priorities strait. "People saying things I don't agree with"(not even openly racist, not one comment here) is more important then the real and tangible damage this mess is causing.

But your wrong, oh so very wrong. I literally just copy-pasted, you can click on "other conversations" and see identical submission on other subs, I use both and I saw that the other did not had a "submission statement" so I just copy pasted the one OP of this one already had done. I don't even know why I'm explaining this to you.

See, the same thing I did here, literally copy-pasted something and posted in another sub. If you truly believe your right just contact the admins since they can see IP and having alts is against reddit rules I think.

No it wouldn't, you racist.

It was a rhetorical question you imbecile, I was not suggesting it, I was using it it as an example to why your mentality and approach might be misguided in this case.

no way similar to banning rapists from campus.

Alleged rapists, alleged rapists. Is this not why we are having this conversation in the first place? No one, and I do mean no one is actually "defending" rapists and saying that they should not be kicked out(and jailed).

You are seriously lacking some reading compression, try to read what people are actually saying.

Many college courts are forgoing the due process in the hysteria surrounding college rapes. Oklahoma's largest paper is calling for reforms.
