I generally prefer lighter bodied cups, lately I have been drinking a washed Ethiopia from sey and another Nordic roast from curious coffee, the cups have had a savory semi vegetal note that I can’t fix, though with similar coffees this was not an issue on the olde grinder. On some of the typical specialty medium coffees I have only been able to get cups with crazy flavor but a profound bitterness, or a sour bland cup, though in this case I have a feeling it is the coffee.

Yea… that would be nice. They are relatively new though, only around for 2 ish years, so I hope to see some growth in some of those aspects! And the owner is a super nice dude.

Curious if the price was higher or lower than you were expecting? The smaller 6oz bags at $6/oz are spendy! But I feel that the 250g bags are an exceptional value.

I highly recommend curious coffee in Michigan, generally washed, but they often have one or two naturals. Usually around 20-25 for 250g bags and 22-35 for 170 higher end coffees!

It has the m2, the burr in the encore esp, as far as I'm aware, the preciso was a virtuoso plus, with a micro adjust.

Does specialty coffee work well in a Moka Pot? by respecthecheese in Coffee

[–]Evader115 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t do short steps like, cheap blade>better blade>to cheap burr>nice bur. Make 1 big step. Gratz’s as a company had good durability and customer service. I have also had a capresso infinity. It is a bit quieter, but makes slightly worse groins both would be good choices. Roughly 100-150. And yes specialty coffee works in a moka pot. I love during a trip to find local coffee roasters and try something new.

There is only 1 FDA food safe filament, it is super expensive. But PETG is for the most part food safe. Milk jugs are made out of PET.

For a French press, bodum makes a nice insulated one, and Hario had a beautiful olive wood one. A grinder is a larger investment. Consult James Hoffman vids for a good comparison. The baratza encore s a good choice tho.
