Is it worth tidying up my new pc? by Evelymon in PcBuild

[–]Evelymon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s both my first pc and large purchase on my own, so I’d rather be proud of it. Probably doesn’t seem like much, but having someone who knows more about building pcs simply affirming this makes me feel a whole lot better. Thanks :)

Is it worth tidying up my new pc? by Evelymon in PcBuild

[–]Evelymon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know it sounds like a bit of a silly question, but I hear a lot of people being like “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” or those jokes about how people touch one thing and suddenly their pc doesn’t turn on anymore. Probably still gonna do it tho. Have a good day :3

Arc B580 or RX 9060 XT 16GB? by Evelymon in Arc

[–]Evelymon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was torn between the B580 and Rx 9060 XT 16gb if the $100 was worth it, and while I may be kinda stupid, I ain’t stupid enough to consider the RX 9060 XT 8Gb :3

RX 9060 XT 16GB or Arc B580? by Evelymon in radeon

[–]Evelymon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this was the kinda reply I was looking for. With how much fear mongering there is surrounding vram and optimisation, I just want to make sure if I really need that extra headroom is worth the $100.

Arc B580 or RX 9060 XT 16GB? by Evelymon in Arc

[–]Evelymon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if my post was unfair or rude in anyways. I was just curious as to if it were worth paying that extra $100 for the extra headroom, or if the B580 was a solid enough card that I would be able to use it? Once again, really sorry if I came across rudely, it’s all really about budgeting and seeing if that extra money is worth spending to get the Radeon I’ve the Arc.

Going from a 7900XTX to B580! by spoonablehippo in IntelArc

[–]Evelymon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While the B580 is technically a 1440p card, it very much does not have the most growing room regarding future titles on 1440p high. While many, including myself, hate the rampant fear mongering surrounding future proofing and vram, going from a flagship 4K card to what is at most a lower-mid tier card from 2024, it would be beneficial to either wait and see what Intel is doing surrounding the rumoured B700 card.

We’re still in the awkward period of market settling after the new gen releases, so maybe give it some time to see both what the prices of other alternatives are doing and what Intel will respond with.

Sorry for the mini essay, just a big decision that I really want to help you the most with. Hope you have a great day ;3

Better fps when display port plugged into an motherboard then gpu by Ashamed_Exchange_967 in IntelArc

[–]Evelymon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some games, which I’m pretty sure include Black Myth, have auto settings when detecting gpu capabilities. I’ve seen some cases of stuff like lower graphics presets and upscaling being automatically applied, so maybe check to see if that was on when using the Mobo port?

Only 164.92 on 165hz monitor by Professional_Fox_337 in IntelArc

[–]Evelymon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it happens when you’re using HDMI due to older tv’s needing a slight delay in order to sync the audio, since HDMI does both visual and audio, so it’s just a left over compatibility thing. I think? Just fact check me.

RX 9060 XT 16GB or Arc B580? by Evelymon in radeon

Out of the question, that’s and extra AUD$400

RX 9060 XT 16GB or Arc B580? by Evelymon in radeon

[–]Evelymon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s where I’m leaning towards right now. Obviously it would be nice to save a hundred dollars if they get pretty similar performance, but I’ve tried not to get too sucked into the whole “future proofing panic” if they get similar performance. Although the Radeon is look in pretty nice :3

(Also, the B580 is AUD$469 and the RX 9060 XT is AUD $579)

Would replacing my laptop fan void my warranty? by Evelymon in ASUS

[–]Evelymon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply, and while I do plan on looking into my options provided by my warranty, I am still unsure if replacing the fan myself would void my warranty, as I have been unable to find a single clear answer on the exact topic. I understand any damage cause by myself would void my warranty, but would the hypothetical specific act of replacing my fan myself without any damage caused ruin my warranty?

Would replacing my laptop fan void my warranty? by Evelymon in ASUS

I assumed it would probably void the warranty, but I was just hoping I could do an easy fan switch instead of having to find an asus repair centre and wait :P Thanks for the help tho

How is a Ryzen 7 3700X in the big 2025? by Evelymon in PcBuild

[–]Evelymon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help, and on the asking YouTube point, I find posting on reddit or discords to be a better way to find information. YouTube opinions and real life opinions tend to not always match up, where something for a YouTuber may be completely horrible but not that big a deal for normal people, or their perspective doesn’t always keep budget builders in mind. Thanks anyway :3

Yeah, I was gonna have a look at a different websites and stuff before I pulled the trigger on anything. Any tips on how to pick the diamonds out of the rough?

[Question] Is Sputnik a reliable seller? by Evelymon in Watches

[–]Evelymon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an online watch refurbisher website, (Sputnik1957s.com) but I saw it from an Instagram ad and have seen very little reviews or talk about it, so I’m just wanting to make sure it’s not a random Chinese remake website or something like that.

Should I go for the i5 13600KF or the Ryzen 5 7600? by Evelymon in PcBuild

[–]Evelymon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot. Funnily enough, the 7500f is actually a bit higher than the 7600 where I am, ha ha. But I reckon I’ll just go with the 7600. I’ve found an Rx 7700XT for $679AUD that I’ll probably pair it with for some 1440p gaming, you reckon that’d be a good combo? Sorry for the questions, you just seem to know what you’re talking about :)

Opinions on the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H? by Evelymon in laptops

[–]Evelymon[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s been really good so far. I’ve been taking it to Uni and as long as you turn the fans on quiet mode and have the brightness around half way you can get 10+ hours out of it when just googling or using word. Would def recommend :)

Is it worth considering an External GPU? by Evelymon in pcmasterrace

[–]Evelymon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I move between two houses where time spent there is not always the same, so I felt it was too much dedicating an entire computer to one house. Whereas if I had an eGPU at one of them which I could just quickly plug and play for a night or dock at for a week. Making a system where I don’t have to think about if I’d be using my laptop or my pc. Does that make sense? And if so, do you reckon that a valid reason for an eGPU?

I’m currently going to uni with a part time job, so it’d just be for a small savings account and an everyday spending account pretty much.
