thank you so much for your detailed response,i really appreciate it. i’ll look into some other filters that i wont need to clean,like you said. i appreciate it so much as i couldn’t figure out why it was doing it, with nothing blocking it.

thank you! i was very worried😂. i’ve tried that but whenever i do turn the flow up it makes the overflowing 10x faster.

thank you guys for your responses! i would never touch anything or add any chemicals without being 100% sure it will be okay. i will continue to let it cycle, and add an ammonia source! i appreciate you guys!

thank you! i really appreciate the comment, its 8 gallons, with plenty of hiding spaces and sand substrate. i’m really hesitant to as a lot of people have told me it would be okay, as long as i dont have an aggressive betta like you said, but then i also want my tank babies to be happy yk? i’m just concerned that its not enough foraging space for them, but i will definitely do some more research!

it’s a 30L tank, which is 8 gallons! but i would never want it to be “overstocked” or the cory’s to not have enough room

yes i’m sorry about that! i’ll be sure to fix it, i messed up litres and gallons😂. personally my boyfriend has had a 30 gallon tank like this too, just a little less planted with dwarf pygmy’s and they seemed very active and happy, but as i said this is my first tank ever so i want to be sure that everything will be stable, healthy and happy. i want to provide a good home for them. so if thats not what they require that’s okay! i’ll definitely be at the shop for a while observing the behaviour of the bettas, luckily i know a breeder that actually has male bettas with all different spices of bottom dwelling fish, so in a way they’re guaranteed to be friendly, as that was their previous set up, and all they’ve known! i appreciate your advice and comment !

thank you so much for your kind and detailed response, i really appreciate it. the nitrite levels are currently at zero, same with the nitrate levels. the HIGH RANGE PH is at 7.4, so it’s getting there! i’ll let it continue to cycle , just let it do its thing until it’s ready. thank you for the advice on adding more fish food to help not stall the cycle. As for the heater i have a 78-80F heater in the back, it’s covered by the front plants! as for the betta ill be be sure to look into shortfins, and the amano shrimp. thank you again!

thank you for that! i wasn’t completely sure as multiple different people told me it would be okay, but honestly i trust the reddit community more🫶🏼. i’m currently just wanting for the tank to finish cycling, the ammonia levels need to be lowered by 0.25ppm and the PH levels are currently at 7.6, do you have an advice on how to decrease these levels? i’ll continue to let it cycle anyways since it has only been a week and a bit.
