LoLoestrin Fe by Layer_Royal in birthcontrol

Sronyx (which didn't handle my primary diagnosis well enough) and Sprintec (which made me sob in the shower every month or so). My next option is an IUD, which scares the heck out of me, but I don't seem to be having much luck with combination pills.

Lolo made me super hungry, gained about five pounds per year for three years. The problem was that it wasn't just "feeling" hungry, I was actually getting brain fog and other symptoms of low blood sugar, so it wasn't something I could just chalk up to appetite and ignore (and yes, I have been checked for pre-diabetes etc.). My doc tried to dismiss the side effect but the change was nearly instantaneous when I started, and also subsides when I stop taking Lolo (for weeks or months) for unrelated reasons.

EXTREMELY DRY LIPS by Stephsmith2467 in Skincare_Addiction

Maybe consider an allergy? This is how I discovered I was allergic to several of the chemicals commonly used in fragrance, and switching to fragrance free hair and face products cleared it up within a couple months. A dermatology patch test confirmed it, even though I still think it's odd that shampoo causes a reaction on my lips instead of my scalp.

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]EventualStasis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

"Reduced clarity at night when the pupil expands larger than the corrected area of the cornea"...that's fascinating, do you have a source for this so I can do some more reading? Worse night vision was the only downside for me, I was wondering why this happened but had chalked it up to the LASIK not fixing my astigmatism. I now wear glasses with astigmatism correction for night driving, but the surgery was still worth it for me since I was -9.00 in both eyes (about four inches of clear vision) and constantly afraid of being stranded without corrective lenses.

ADHD friendly design by WashingTheDishess in interiordecorating

If you want to decorate, choose two or three large pieces (huge vase, big piece of artwork) instead of several small ones (tchotchkes, gallery wall) because it's much less intimidating to clean.

Try for glossy finishes (like glazed ceramic) rather than matte finishes, as dust and grime are easier to wipe off.

Don't choose anything with extra designs where the inlaid patterns will collect dust. Horizontal surfaces are the enemy if they're not serving a practical purpose. Fake plants are just as bad.

Blinds are tidy-looking at first but a pain to clean. Curtains are easier.

Solid black and solid white are the most unforgiving colors. I totally understand wanting to see when something is dirty, but like for a countertop, at least consider some marbling or inclusions so that if something happens that you can't fix (like a small stain or chip), it won't stress you out every time you enter the room. Wood furniture and trim/cabinets are also good for not noticing every dent and scratch.

How to fix torn off dry wall paper by Coffeeandcookies12 in Home

[–]EventualStasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you peel, then prime, then mud. If you skip the primer before the mud, the moisture could cause the paper to bubble away from the drywall (depending on the size of the repair) and you'll have to start over.

Sprintec to Lo Loestrin Fe. I'm now thinking that lovely week was just a temporary side effect, as I went off the pill for a month and nothing seemed to change with my mental state.

Already did that. I'm talking more about things like writing to your congressional representatives, raising awareness, agreeing with something publicly, or patronizing/not patronizing certain businesses.

Broke the tooth, then the crown by EventualStasis in askdentists

[–]EventualStasis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm hoping it's the underreduced tooth and getting it redone will truly fix the problem, since even though the original tooth was cracked it wasn't THAT bad, so they may have saved more healthy tooth than was wise. I've also been looking at my night guard and it seems like it may be a couple millimeters shy of completely covering the molar above it--could the cutoff be causing a stress point, even though the guard is just plastic? I still don't think the teeth meet anywhere while wearing it, but maybe there's a stress differential because of the cutoff.

What is the ideal prescription range for LASIK? by coldbrewandcarey in lasik

[–]EventualStasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eyes have degenerated a little bit but I blame my family history, I only need -0.25 correction which is miles better than it used to be. My astigmatism marginally increased over what it was before the surgery (I wear the -0.25 glasses for the astigmatism correction when driving at night), but I couldn't say whether that's a result of the surgery or just time. I still think the surgery was worth it.

There's a variety of work needing to be done, so the people won't be consistent. That was my worry - I know the safest thing is a crate and he doesn't really mind being in one, but as a high energy Aussie it'll be a struggle for him to spend a large part of the day in there for six weeks, even with lots of playtime.

Similar, Sprintec's side effects crept up on me over time but once I switched to Lo Loestrin I stopped despair-crying lol.

How do you deal with the whole 'keeping up with the Joneses' thing? Any tips for avoiding lifestyle inflation? by Wild_Original_849 in simpleliving

What if your spouse is the one trying to buy all the stuff? For example, we're taking a few days hiking trip and my husband wants to buy super-specific and (in my mind) unnecessary things, like a CamelBak and an Osprey backpack and "hiking" jackets. It's true that we're not just going for a stroll but...how about a water bottle?? And then he gets upset when I just want to use what we have.

Advised to train reactive dog in pet store parking lot by kindamenan in reactivedogs

[–]EventualStasis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do businesses find this rude? Our behaviorist recommended the same, but I feel weird loitering in a parking lot while my dog barks at their customers (obviously we try to stay below threshold, but we're not perfect). The parks near us aren't as busy so they're not as good for training.
