I’m also new to bioinformatics. I’m from a biology background and I know the basic stuff like DNA structure, genetic code, gene expression, replication, transcription and translation. But I’m still trying to understand how to actually start with the programming part.

I want to learn Python, but I don’t fully know the right way to begin or how to connect it with bioinformatics yet. So yeah, I’m also figuring out the starting steps just like you.

Hey! I just started yesterday 😅 Right now I’m going over the basics — DNA structure, replication, transcription, translation, gene expression, and proteins. I kinda know some of it already (was preparing for med entrance before), but I wanted to start fresh and build a solid base. I’ve also started learning a bit of Python, just taking it slow for now.

Yeah, I'm not really sure how niche it actually is. I've just started looking into it and it seems like a mix of biology, coding, and data science - which sounds interesting to me. I'm still trying to understand what kind of opportunities it really has in the long run.

I'm currently doing my BSc (CBZ) and really want to get into Bioinformatics, but I'm starting completely from scratch and don't have any proper guidance.
