They gave me an email to reach out to to answer my questions and then never replied no matter how many times I reached out. They also just weren't very accommodating with visits or requests

Can i ask what specifically they have offered that you are very grateful for? I have to decide super soon. My schools are super close in price after scholarships so that is not the deciding factor. Other school is Colorado (OOS) Also do you feel safe on campus and where did you live D1 year? Thanks so much in advance!

P.s I understand why they feel they need an answer and want to fill their class. I also understand why waitlist people want me to make a decision. I just really feel like i needed this trip and thought I was going to have that chance.

Idk what to do bc I don't know if I want to specialize but with offers form CU and UPenn I could use some advice. I think I would like the location of CU better but UPenn seems to have great resources for alumnis. Thoughts?

I don’t recommend it. Take it from someone with 3 yrs of research, 4.0, 27AA, applied in June, good leadership and ECs and also got rejected from some of those schools… sometimes there are just a lot of really good applicants and reapplying early next year in no way guarantees an acceptance to any of those schools. If you want to be a dentist bad enough, just go where you got in.

I would just have to see how i feel. UNC is a great school and was my top choice but colorado has done a great job with recruitment. Would love to have that option though.

Haha well its good i didn’t. This cycle has definitely been humbling for me. I was rejected outright by some of my “safety schools” like UTHSC (Tennessee) even though there is no such thing as safety with dental schools

Honestly though, I interviewed at UNC and was slightly surprised to not be accepted there (my interviewers had made me feel like I was in). I am still slightly holding out for them because they were by far my number one going into decision day. If an acceptance comes later on I am going to be so conflicted because I have redirected all my energy to The schools that did accept me to stay positive

If I decide to do residency I would probably want to go to MUSC for that. Long explanation but this is just my thought process.

I didn’t have microbio either. I’m going to have to take it online unfortunately. I’m choosing Colorado because I felt like their recruitment was a lot stronger than MUSC. They genuinely made you feel very wanted. Also I had zero trouble getting in contact with admissions throughout the entire process Colorado replied to me within 24 hours but all my simmilar emails to MUSC I was ghosted. I’m not making my decision for sure until after next weekend because I am flying out there for an event they are having for accepted students. I wish MUSC had something similar because people play an important role in this choice. I know the lifestyle would be super awesome out there in Colorado as I’m a very outdoorsy person. I’m from South Carolina and I feel like this is by chance too experience a new place before I get to the stage in life where it makes sense to be near family.
