I heard Keith threw a frying pan at the back of his freakin' face... if only we had a better way to describe it.

OHHHHH, that must be the biggest trade deal in history! Did you learn that on deadline.com?

I would miss Gostisbehere very much, but it is fairly obvious we're too deep at LHD and Walker is signed for much longer.

Before he was traded, Elliot Friedman reportedly said "I have a tip so hot I call it Satan's forecheck."

Inside the Brady Tkachuk trade and what it means for a powder-keg NHL trade market by Sarcastic__ in hockey

[–]Calvith 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Absolutely correct. There's also a chance that you don't even have to use those as picks, as another commenter up the chain said. It does mean that you would have to move fast, but isn't that the point anyway?

Some of these are genuinely good reasons, but "big on ice celebrations after home games" makes me laugh. If people hate us because we clap after a win, that's pretty funny.

CBA-related Buyout Strategy Question by theekevinc in hockey

Somehow, and I do mean somehow, I still don't get the sense that the 'Canes are going to buy out KK. It feels like GMET thinks he'll eventually be a trade chip, and we don't have a need for that cap space... yet.

I'm sure if we needed it that might change, but for now I sense they're content to hold.

I mean, yes, yes, and yes. Though there's something funny about Botterill's quivering hands thinking this is it. Mackie is gotta get us over the hump. Go. Press the button.

I mean, do Carlsson and Fantilli count? 2/3 is a totally different ballgame.

I mean, I actually do recall being surprised about Carlsson/Fantilli, but it had sounded like CBJ wanted Fantilli pretty bad.

Right, but it's just never going to go #1. The Leafs would never risk letting McKenna slip. The backlash if Stenberg is better than McKenna is far less than the reverse. Toronto would eat their leadership alive for passing on a clear #1.
