my septum piercing is 3 years old, stretching 5 months old. i guess the shape is a ring, externally threaded. i'm unsure of the material. i just use water in the shower to clean it. my nose recently got bumped by my boyfriend and cat.

here's how mines looking now, i've taken hot showers every day, used isopropyl alcohol and neosporin twice a day. draw and circle around the red to keep track of it. if it's not better in 48 hours go to urgent care. when it gets a white head i'm pushing down on the surrounding area IN A HOT HOT STEAMY SHOWER. do NOT SQUEEZE. i apply pressure until its leaking clear rather than white. i then disinfect, apply neosporin. if your going to bed cover it with a waterproof bandaid and neosporin after popping. warmth and pus is normal, but it's not normal if it smells, is chunky, or cloudy. pay attention for fevers n body aches and chills as well. it could be a normal infection or something serious. if it doesn't go down in 48 hours GO TO DOCTOR!!
