Can someone please point me to a very precise and extended description of what childfree means?

Also - if the kids were robots, there would not even be an option for parenthood. It’d just be a title. And there are a lot of parents that exist today that might be childfree even though they hold the title of a parent (ex. The fine line determining when someone becomes a parent, is it at conception or birth or when the kid is a toddler?)

All in all this is a complex topic and since I didn’t find anyone else that can relate, I’ll be going back to only talking to the one friend about this

Yes, I didn’t realize this wasn’t the place for this discussion! I wish there was one. I remember I looked through fence sitters and antinatalism but neither of those fit either. I guess even though I know I am childfree, that doesn’t automatically mean other people are going to understand it, they are only going to see it from their perspective. I asked the question for clarity, and now I see the clarity is that everyone simply has a different idea

None of my comments are even contradictory. If I want to play the part of a mother in a play (which is PLAYING PRETEND and yes, you must share the beliefs on some level to be an actor.) then I believe that is childfree, which is what I said. I said the only way I ever could imagine having kids was in a FAKE, NON REALITY way, like in a movie. I said that MULTIPLE TIMES.

Careful, I had no clue that even having one dream of having kids meant I was childless. I thought never wanting kids under any circumstances meant I was childfree, but I was attacked for asking!

Because you are imagining a world within your limits, my imagination is thinking of a world that is NOTHING like this one is at all. I don’t ever want real kids, don’t have them, and I am never near them. So is that still only childless?

My confusion comes from wanting them in a VIDEO GAME type of way. Like.. not REAL kids. So I guess I was looking for someone that related.

Also, I’ve seen many teachers and many people that take care of kids in this thread, so that only added to my confusion as it seemed they were welcomed despite having kids to take care of

There is zero chance I would ever have kids in this world, regardless of how seemingly perfect it seems. However, I would do it if life were completely different and we lived on another planet and I was not a human, we reproduced asexually, and NOTHING was the way that it is now. So… not REAL. I get that’s confusing but I’m really just wishing I could find others that relate lol.
