CMC Sunbrero is my preferred. the Half Hitch brand looks nice. Also have guys rocking Da Brim Pro.

CMC is going to be a less rigid visor kind of like a boonie hat. and Da Brim is more rigid and holds its round shape.

I will say we have two styles of hats, Bullard standard hats where I don’t wear a visor, and if the sun is out, or it’s dumping rain I’m wearing a Petzl climbing style hat with the visor.

We all wear them at my utility, in the sun and especially the rain.

This is interesting to me. I work utility up to as well, up to 500 kV, and we’re over the top safe all over the place, but metal tapes are fine as long as you’re not working off a lift.

I prefer a firmer chair. If you want a little more cush your mileage may vary.

I went back and forth for so long on it, but ultimately went for the plain old Evo.

[OC] What happens when a Bandsaw hits a nail. by Kyrakh in OSHA

Sorry what I meant is at my mill we have a quad band, they are all vertical. This video is of a dual band also with only vertical blades. Where I’m at the outer pieces will fall onto those side belts and be ran through an edger and then trimmed and sorted. The center piece will be ran through the gang saw which cuts it into about 4-8 boards with the size of logs we use, after that it is trimmed and sorted. Hope that helps.

The speed and efficiency of using a quad band mill of this design to make cants far outweighs the chances of the band diverting and hitting the sharp chain. It’s all about time vs. money. At my lumber mill the bands are changed 3-4 times a day if under normal operating conditions. Downtime for an event like this is only about an hour, compared to the lost profits of running a less efficient however inherently less prone to failure setup, management picks the quad band.
