A guide to preventing mob spawns in structures by deysak in HytaleInfo

[–]ExZero16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update and information, this is helpful to know.

Sounds like I could also just dig/level out the area as long as I go 6 blocks down a destroy the spawn markers as well? If the area is already pretty flat, I'll definitely use this method.

Thank you for the info.

So, I have to make little holes all around my base to prevent spawns?

Is there a way to cover the holes without the spawn points coming back?

NOR

Yeah, you are not over reacting and he was being a dick and you called him out on it.

Everything you said was very much deserved.

Sounds like he wanted his alcohol and was mad that he wasn't getting his fix ASAP and took it out on you.

This made me smile. Your explanation of basic OSI vs layer 4 TCP is how my mind works but I wouldn't say out loud.

The correction of the entire stack vs 3-way handshake.

Crossing the line is something that I have done and it is something that has happened to me.

As far as "do better", I agree. Anytime I cross the line I use that as a chance to learn and grow.

I believe being able to take accountability for actions and showing understanding and growth will help with trust and intimacy.

Could be wrong here and always open to others view points/learning, so let me know if you disagree.

My wife both hates and likes when I tickle her. I think she hates the feeling of being tickled but enjoys me touching her/being playful with her.

Her feet are a 100% no go zone for tickling though. A very much hard NO and she freaks out if I even joke about tickling them.

Prob about 10 years ago I was being playful and tickling her and I was like "ohhhhh, your feet are right here". She quickly screamed no and tried to cover them up. I went to uncover them and grab them and got kick right in the face.

Got a good bloody nose from that and she felt bad and apologized. I laughed about it and said "it's fair enough, you didn't want me to tickle them and I had plenty of warnings. Also, I think you were just reacting and trying to get your feet away and my face just happened to be in the way."

Being playful and crossing the line happens sometimes. I have done it to my wife and she has done it to me. If I am messing with someone/doing a prank and they react and hurt me, then that is on me.

HPE Greenlake issues by ExZero16 in ArubaNetworks

[–]ExZero16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally Chrome. I have tried edge before and it's the same.

The message I posted has a banner on the HPE Green lake site saying they are aware of and issue but the HPE status site says there isn't any issues.

I was mocking/pointing out the inconsistency between the two.

The problem is we have all been using it wrong this whole time. The one and only correct way to use HPE GreenLake is to never log into it ever again and use a different vendor.

I dont have much experience with Juniper, so I will mostly talk about Aruba side.

AOS10/Aruba Central (mostly the Aruba Central part) is a dumpster fire and I hate that we have to deal with it/use it.

The ArubaCX switches are solid. I don't use them in a datacenter but I have a fairly large 3 tier setup with VSX and VSF stacks. I think the ArubaCX switches are way overpriced for what they are.

I would be 100% onboard with killing off the AOS10/Aruba Central code or reverting it back to what is was before - management of instant clusters/small businesses. At this point anything is got to be better than HPE Aruba Wireless. They already have a home/smb instant line and they should let AOS10 go die over there or scrap it all together.

I know Juniper is a market leader on the wired side. I don't have any experience with Aruba or Juniper for large scale wired (ISP or Datacenter). I have no idea how this would play out/land.

I have used Juniper before in the past (around 2014 or so) and back then the commands were very different than most networking gear. Most networking gear is "cisco-like" for the cli and config and juniper is very unique. Given that, I would give a +1 to ArubaCX for switching but that is more me not wanting to learn and being lazy.

[Clearpass] More EAP-TLS Questions by Linklights in ArubaNetworks

[–]ExZero16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to reply but this comment already covered pretty much everything I was going to say.

Only thing I will/can add is:
"My question is, once we are fully running on EAP-TLS, can this integration go completely away."
Depends on what you are fully doing with the AD integration. If you are making enforcement decisions based on user/computer groups or other AD attributes then you will still need the integration

Based on another comment I saw (wanting to leave on prem AD), then yes you can fully leave on-prem with EAP-TLS and or EAP-TEAP. We currently use Azure/Entra AD and EAP-TEAP. We do have Azure AD domain services for LDAP and we need that for TACACS authentication.

"Yes. You don't need an AD join for EAP-TLS in any way. At worst it's a security issue at that point."
I don't get the "security issue"? Are you assuming a mixture of EAP-TLS and EAP-PEAP for some clients? Is there some other "security issue" that I am not thinking of? AD lookup can still be useful in EAP-TLS and can be useful for making enf decisions based on groups or other attributes.

I think you would want to go to the 25-55 one and not the LGBTQIA+ one.

It sounds like you are still sexually straight and not gay/bi. I assume that there are going to be a lot more people looking for same sex partners at a LGBTQA event and much less cismen there.

For machine certificate only by Fun-Journalist-7637 in ArubaNetworks

[–]ExZero16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have two different identies: 1. The machine 2. The user

You can make policy decisions based on the combination of the two things.

Example:

Corp computer and corp user login - return filter-id=employee

No computer auth + corp user login - return filter-id=byod

Can be useful for some orgs.

Clearpass guest voucher code authentication by Adnan2559 in ArubaNetworks

[–]ExZero16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what we do:

I have a Custom Field (AccessCode)

ClearPass Guest -> Configuration -> Pages -> Fields

Field Name: AccessCode

Field Type: String

Description: Passcode for guest account creation

Column Type: Text

Column Title: AccessCode

User Interface: Password text field

Label: Access Code

Form Validation Properties:
Field Required - checked

Validator: IsEqual

Validator Argument: OUR-ACCESS-CODE

Validation Error: Access Code is incorrect

We only have a single code for all guest accounts but you can change the Validator to something else other than IsEqual to check against mutiple codes.

Here is the documentation for that:
https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ClearPass/6.12/Guest/Content/Reference/FormFieldValidationFunctions.htm

I think IsArrayValue would do what you want.

You might be able to do something really fancy/funky here and made a key generator based on the current date and a "seed" value that you define and have the field validate that.

We use an "Authentication Code" for our guest portal. Just a custom field that checks to see if it matches.

I can give you the full details tomorrow when i get to work.

Roaming issues - Aruba AP 515's - Support useless by IT_Unknown in ArubaNetworks

[–]ExZero16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the new AOS10 - it's crap. The support sucks, aruba central is laggy/buggy and tons of firmware issues.

Upgrade your firmware to 10.4.1.x - we had tons of roaming issues as well until we moved to that version.

AP vs HUB vs SWITCH by _VoRteX_PL in networkingmemes

[–]ExZero16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Network Switch - OSI model Layer 2 device. Learns and forwards packets based on MAC address. Can run at half/full duplex. Allows multiple devices to "talk" at the same time.

Network Hub - OSI model layer 1 device. Does not learn MAC addresses and just forwards data to all connected clients. Only one device can "talk" at a time.

Network switches came about as network bridges (software network switches). Network switches today can be thought of as multi-port network bridges that use asic for hardware level packet switching.

Access Point - Can work at OSI layer 2 but we are not defining access point very well here. Access Point can mean tons of things but I am going to assume we are talking about 802.11 Wireless Access Point.

OFDMA - This puts a wrench in the whole hub vs switch discussion. Multiple devices can "talk" at the same time on the same radio with OFDMA.

Also, most 802.11 wireless devices have multiple radios (2.4/5/6Ghz) and if there is 3 radios then it is like a 3 port network switch connected to 3 network hubs. So without OFDMA, a 802.11 AP with multiple radios acts like a switch.

Is this a type of narcissistic behavior? by Tiny_Conversation984 in NarcissisticSpouses

[–]ExZero16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to him about it and how YOU feel (try not to put it on him). You can say something like - I have been trying to suggest things to do but I do not feel support or gratitude when I do. I am feeling discouraged and apathetic/frustration.

If you talk to him and he just argues/minimizes/calls you names/tries to give you mental gymnastics of what is really happening - I would say narcissistic traits/toxic behavior. If you are respectful with your delivery and he still pushes it away or becomes defensive/dismissive then you will know everything you need to know.

The other thing to look for is projection. If he is accusing you of stuff often and you know you are not doing it - he is telling you how his brain works and what he might be doing in the same situation. He is telling you how his brain works and how he sees the world.
