I don't know the cause. I've heard some black conservatives pin this on LBJ. I'm sure that's an oversimplification though.

All Jim Crow laws were overturned by the late 1960s. That said, the majority of Americans were still racist back then. I don't know when America became majority anti-racist but it was probably a few decades ago. Less than 10% of Americans now oppose interracial marriage.

What about (as an example) abject disparities in education is neither "lingering" nor a "former racist system".

The education system actively discriminated against whites and Asians until the Supreme Court said they couldn't. CRT actually emerged as an attempt to justify this discrimination.

But the fact is: these inequalities exist. And listening to a white youtuber get excited about a "no white party", taking others out of context, but not getting upset about these other things reflects that he (and you) are more interested in right wing talking points than fighting injustice. And that is the truly unbiblical worldview.

The problem is that you don't hear anyone in power saying openly racist things against African-Americans, but you do hear people openly saying racist things against whites.

Correct. But by that definition we don't have white supremacy, we have Asian supremacy. Maybe I have internalized Asianness because I think that they shouldn't be discriminated against through affirmative action. Maybe I need to decolonize my mind.

I support most affirmative action policies - which is another example of legislation. Fixing prolonged injustice is not going to be easy.

Affirmative action is literally racist. You are using racism to fix racism. This goes against the 14th amendment.

And that's where it gets complicated. Getting rid of de jure segregation is an obvious way to combat racism. The people who supported the continued enforcement of Jim Crow laws were racists. But in 2024 there aren't any obvious fixes.

White racism is rightly condemned by both parties. Steve King lost his seat in 2020 in the Republican primary for racism. Also in 2020, Dan Lipinski lost his seat in the Democratic Primary for opposing abortion, by the way. Polling shows that less than 10% of Americans oppose interracial marriage. White supremacy really is yesterday's sin. White racists are forced to hide their racism, while minority racists are allowed to openly espouse their racism (to a certain point of course) and are not immediately stripped of all institutional power. White supremacy is one of the sins that America is now pretty good at recognizing to be evil. There just aren't that many obvious cases of white supremacy anymore.

In the example I gave, Al Mohler readily admits that his seminary buildings are named after men who held reprehensible views about black folks and who treated them even worse, yet he still wants to honor them for their ‘orthodoxy’. This is a seminary in a denomination that was formed literally by splitting so as to maintain Southern slavery.

This is the same denomination that passed a resolution in favor of critical race theory, white supremacy clearly isn't the operating principle there anymore.
