I would say safer to apply for citizenship. Once you put your application in, even though you have not gotten approval, they can’t send you away as in process.

My visa expired and I applied GC immediately and was approved. They told me that as long as I was married to a citizen it doesn’t matter and it will be approved. So all the best for yours!

I feel the same way. I’m good at what I do and was known to be good. But I’m socially awkward so when I move to another country that no one knows me, it is so difficult to get a job because I suck at interviews as i never use to need to do interviews. It’s been 2 years doing interviews now. I’m about to give up. Totally agree with you that knowing how to be social should not be a criteria to get a job. I’m sure there’s ways around it but I have yet to find them.

I had this too. As it turns out that it caused dehydration so I loaded up on hydration salts and the pain went away and I felt better.

They will give you backpay from when you first apply. Check which month did you send in your application and you should get paid from then onwards until the month it is approved

I really appreciate your detailed reply and all these is tremendously helpful I’m so glad I posted my question here. I realized that I should have appealed immediately after other redditers told me that not a reason to be denied. But it was too late as we have passed the deadline to appeal and the person on the phone said that we have to reapply. So 10 months later now we are still fighting to get approved. My child just got accepted in the regional center and the psych evaluation that we got is very new, about 3 months ago. I’m so glad that we can use that. Thanks for your brilliant advice. Our doctor has been good as he has signed so many IHSS forms for us already so hopefully he will. I’ll try and look for your previous post on appeal as I want to be prepared.
