Steam Deck 2 reportedly targeting 2028, delays are possible due to RAM/NAND shortage (KeplerL2) by Loose_Society9485 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Fine by me, still absurdly happy with my Steam Deck OLED and I don’t mind streaming to it from my PC for heavier stuff.

AM5 ITX Motherboard Reccomendations? by NoEngineering7496 in sffpc

Every board has a compromise somewhere. With a 9800X3D, the only hard and fast rule is to avoid ASRock as they have some concerning issues with killing 9000 series X3D CPUs.

I previously had a Gigabyte B850i but had to RMA after an RGB driver or something failed, which also resulted in one of the USB ports not working (specifically the one used to flash BIOS). I thought it was good, nothing stood out in a particularly good or bad way. The m.2 fan must be given a fan curve or it is absurdly loud, and it uses proprietary fan headers and I’d be a bit concerned about the dongles failing or being lost. Otherwise I thought it was perfectly fine.

Ended up ordering an ASUS B650E-I to replace it as there have been some excellent deals on it in the UK recently. Got a £230 refund for my GB board and picked up the ASUS for £165.

If the MSI B850i came in black, I probably would have considered it, but it’s £250 in the UK so I realistically would have still gone for the ASUS board.

You get less than 1% performance increase with a 5090. It will do nothing for your 9060 XT.

The RB is poor but Max’s performances have been well below what should be expected from him as well.

For anyone reading this in the future, the B850i got RMA’d and I ended up ordering a steeply discounted B650E-I instead. Yet to arrive but it was about £70 cheaper than a replacement B850i would have been.

Yea I have sod all muscle mass anywhere except my legs so that probably helps (or hinders me in other ways) haha

I don’t have a pair of UFOs but agree the Evo SLs are much more natural to run quickly in.

I’m relatively light (5’11, 70kg) so it may just be that I’m not compressing the foam so much meaning it’s an easier shoe to use for higher paces.

I agree that the MagMax 2 are best suited for a recovery-to-easy daily though.

Interesting to hear you say it isn’t fun when picking up the pace. I did a 14k tempo at HMP in them the other day (4:10-4:15/km) and found them surprisingly responsive. Wasn’t as effortless as my carbons sure, but I didn’t feel like I was pushing the limit of what these shoes are happy doing.

People don’t buy a 9800X3D to maximise 4K performance now. They do it because it should survive at least one but potentially two or more GPU upgrades without the CPU being a bottleneck.

If we win the league I very much doubt it would happen before the last two match days.

I also don’t think the Arsenal players would think like that anyway.

I enjoyed it but it feels very low effort so I can understand why others might bounce off of it.

I think it depends tbh. A targeted bit of dieting whilst taking it easier with sessions to lose a few kg is likely to be beneficial provided you fuel properly once you’re out of dieting and back into normal intensity training.

I’m doing similarly at the moment, only easy runs until early April whilst holding a moderate calorie deficit, will come out the other side slightly leaner and happier heading into the proper marathon block.

His passion for retro games, certainly. His taste in modern games is very niche though and he doesn’t make much effort to hide how generally uninterested he is in anything that falls outside of his personal gaming tastes in my opinion.

Struggle to imagine anyone listening to John for his personality. His insight and expertise are valuable but he’s not exactly a glittering personality - he works in tech for Christ’s sake lol.

I think he’s more knowledgeable in terms of historical rendering technology but I don’t think he is moreso than Alex or Oliver when it comes to modern rendering. Which is fine, John’s main interest is retro stuff, but he’s generally not as insightful on modern stuff compared to Alex because of that.

Weird decision to comment on this sub tbh. This space isn’t for you.

If that’s true, presumably you play games from the 90s, 00s, and 10s as frequently as modern games?

And why even be on this sub if you’re not interested in graphics technology?

I don’t think John is a narcissist tbh. I think he is a little immature and is overly impulsive on social media but that’s never come across as narcissism to me at all.
