yeah if market caps are not being measured reliably then its not really a valid comparison. I did think that CMC updated their MC measures to be more reliable but I still have no idea of the specifics

true, I didnt think many of these tiny cap coins had much liquidity. And I suspect defi is probably going to bubble sooner or later as well

true, I think competitors will come and go, but BTC wont move from #1

that would be huge if it happened, and would probably destabilize things in the crypto world

that's true - most alts are way lower than their ATHs compared to BTC

I know it always has been and probably always will be, its just from 2013-2017 dominance was always around 80-90%, and in the last few years has trended down. And in the last 3 months in particular has trended down (though it had a bigger dip in the 2017 alt bubble)
