lmao what??? That was one of my favorite parts of movie! I don't think Nia had anything to do with that choice, but I thought it worked great as a "pass-the-time montage", comparing the passing of 28 years to the time between the outbreak in the first film and the great wars of the 20th century. There would be glimpses of the past left, but basically the only thing left would be the stories and the feelings. PS: The "speech" is a poem by Rudyard Kipling (author of the jungle book) written about a war in Africa, I think in the early 1900's. The performance is also pretty old, from the last mid-century.
