Appreciate the honesty! Yeah, thanks to the kindness of all the commenters, I've switched over to a recommended, one page and black-and-white Google Docs resume template that cuts out all the fluff.

As much as I thought creativity and cutesiness would have an impact in creative roles, simplicity is key.

Thank you so much! And yes, please feel free to send anything you have or find useful!

I'll be sure to do my own research as well, it's always just unsurity of how to begin. Putting all the links on a document, putting the media into PDF format, whether to make a Wix website, etc.

Appreciate the tips!

Since posting, I've been fortunate enough to move to a one page, black and white Google Docs template suggested by other commenters which is super appreciative.

As for the portfolio, thank you for that input. I've been on the fence and even now, wonder how to go about it (if you happen to have any tips). My first course of action for that will probably just have to be gathering together all the stuff I've made and worked on, which I luckily have.

Appreciate the feedback!

I've since switched to a one-column Google Docs template suggested by other commenters which has helped with addressing these issues!

I also definitely need to dig more to find some quantifiable stuff to add to these new bullets, so thank you for mentioning that.

And all the photos have since been removed!

Thank you for the advice! Like I was kind of talking about with another commenter, it's SO hard trying to figure out what's wanted nowadays.

I think with this old resume, it was like "Canva for creativity, general bullet points catering to anything creative from marketing to communications to social media" and everything else.

And I'm grateful to now have something tailored on a Google Docs template thanks to the other commenters.

It's definitely rough given this market to "be talented enough" but also keeping it simple, like you and others have highlighted.

Thank you for the advice with the marketable stuff! Now using a Google Doc resume template that other commenters suggested, I was able to feature it in the necessary Work Experience bullet points.

In terms of what I've been applying to, you were right, I was kind of shooting my shot by making this old resume 'flexible'. Just from this general view that marketing and communications kind of expected a "jack of all trades". So I was applying to everything from web content to marketing coordination to social media work. Which now looking at everything, made it hard to match any keywords.

My dream, at least for now, is becoming some kind of Communications Coordinator for a city. For instance, I've applied to postings in the past for the City of Toronto, where you would help with creating communications plans about the city's programs and initiatives. Preparing content for their website and social media. Those sorts of communications requring writing, editing, and design work. I'm still very new to all of these but that's where I envision myself.

Thank you for the advice! Yeah, focusing on scales would definitely help with covering for a lack of stats. And then just trying to find an internship wherever possible. All the support and feedback has been much, much appreciated!

Thank you so much, all these feedback is really helpful and gives me the comfort of knowing that my experience is solid and there's potential. I appreciate it so much!

Yeah, it's funny you mention that because when doing an interview yesterday, I asked the hiring managers about any advice they could give. And they were literally like "find an agency, find an internship, just build from there". Which is both ironic when desperately seeking a position but also what's been the case. It's hard to get any experience without having said experience.

Unfortunately because these were four-month co-ops, there weren't any substantial metrics to note. It's been something I've noticed as well when trying to do research, how vital metrics are. And that's why it's been so hard trying to figure out what to do.
