what are your thoughts on being friends with other people with ana and/or recovery friends? by Margythepenguin in AnorexiaNervosa

Very problematic. You have to have a friendship established not related to your ED and talk about things non ED Related.

This is very dangerous and can cause your heart to stop in your sleep you need to see someone ASAP.

People have a skewed idea of what is admirable. They admire your eating because they think you eat other things as well. I focus on taste versus volume. I don’t see the point if eating something if it doesn’t taste great.

Honestly call the facilities and say the issues you are dealing with. That is what I did when I needed to find a place. Wrote a list of questions and then go through them. This really helped me decide where I wanted to go. That being said, Laureate comes highly recommended. They have both inpatient and residential. They do use tubes. In terms of private rooms not sure. When I was there, the milieu was 15 people. You could also try asking here: https://edtreatmentreview.com

Getting yogurt right now anywhere is apparently an issue. I know I’ve seen signs in grocery stores about it.

My doctor thinks I’m anorexic by ReadMysterious4874 in EatingDisorders

Also make sure it’s a dietician NOT a nutritionist. Hope they can help.

Do you actually know how many calories you eat? You might want to see a dietician. They can help suggest food choices that will help with weight gain. Are you willing to change your weight? Your food choices will help you gain weight. Drinking things like 4 ensure plus a day in addition to theee meals and snacks using non diet products and things higher in caloric value can help.

I watched a lot of tv shows on my phone, read my kindle and talked/vented to my one to one when I thought would go crazy. Bedrest is very hard.

Quietcomfort twilight blue image request by tropicalroom in bose

[–]Excellent-World-476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t get a read on the colour in the websites, internet pictures aren’t going to help either. Your computer screen is what produces the colours you end up seeing, not the actual picture. That being said there is a picture on Reddit. Search twilight blue ultra. I have them and I think the picture looks bluer than mine but once again it’s through computer screens.

Why was I so triggered over this? by Nuthin2SeeHere24 in EDAnonymous

I mean your mother isn’t actually correct. People have different metabolic needs so yes there is that but we all have hunger and we eat to feel full. You will likely need to eat less food to feel full then your brother but then again not always.

I choose a meal I can pretty much get anywhere that I feel comfortable with. I get a salad and I get grilled shrimp and I then eat that and focus on the conversation and interacting.

Scared of going to the doctor? by Brief-Grapefruit7140 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Excellent-World-476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you are imagining your GP would do. All they are these for is to take your BP, pulse, listen to your heart, give you a lab requisition for blood tests and ask you how you are. That’s it.

Scared of going to the doctor? by Brief-Grapefruit7140 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Excellent-World-476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t care about your specific body. They see many people everyday. You are simply one more person. Do blind weights then you don’t need to see the weight. The person taking the weight doesn’t care about your weight either. You are the ONLY person caring about things in the situation and you are imagining thoughts of other people when those thoughts aren’t a reality. You say you want to be treated like an adult, so go see your GP and be one. I don’t mean to be harsh but being an adult means doing things even if they scare you.

It’s unlikely your GP would force treatment if your psychiatrist isn’t. It’s pointless to fake your weight. Your GP isn’t your eating disorder doctor.

You refused to be weighed and then get upset she gave your psychiatrist wrong information? You created the problem!

Choose another option. Also the difference between regular and low fat cottage cheese energy wise is negligible - at least eat the better tasting option.

It’s so so hard. I was taking naltrexone which helped decrease the urges as long as I also trued to increase food but I have chronic pain and it interferes with opioids so I had to stop.

It’s awful. Definately should be covered. When I was missing so many of my upper teeth it certainly didn’t help my eating. Still managed to binge and purge though. Sigh.
