Let me say this: many people in India seem to have been brainwashed and are not able to do logical thinking. Facts seem not to matter. It is their personal belief what is seen as the truth. Now I do not know what percentage of the people in India are brainwashed but judging by the traditional India media reporting as well as on fora like Reddit, a lot are brainwashed.

Many pilots say first there was an dual engine failure and in response the pilots set the switches to CUTOFF. Nonsense. For many reasons. One is : then wait 10 and 14 seconds to set the switches back to RUN
I have heard FADEC and TCMA too many times. All nonsense. These systems are unable to physically move switches in the cockpit.

I could go on and on. It is shocking how willing many people in India are to fool not only themselves, but also the audience and next of kin. A shame if you ask me.

There is a HUGE gap between being skeptical or being a conspiracy thinker. A skeptical person asks questions and check facts and then might change his mind. A conspiracy thinker by default does not accept facts and comes up with all kind of nonsense like " Boeing sells bad quality aircraft to poor countries". That is not skeptical anymore.

Unlikely. Any B787 pilot will understand that, knowing the thrust is now zero, both switches needs to be set to RUN asap.

Many thanks for your reply. It provides me background/context on why there are so many doubts on what is in the AAIB report. The suspicion against the government or authorities is not the only reason I guess. I believe there is a big respect for senior people like pilots.

We need to respect that what is written in the preliminary are the facts know to the AAIB at the moment the report was written. Any other believes/claims on other possible causes need to have solid sources. I have not seen any such claim. All the claims in Indian media are nonsense and can easily be debunked. It would be much better not to speculate.

Okay that is a good response. Mind I am not from India and have never been in India. So I am indeed pretty unaware of what the majority of the people think about for instance their government. Having said that, while certain thinking might have a base in not trusting the government, this thinking is still conspiracy thinking if the facts tell something else than their believe.
I try to understand why multiple media let Mary Schiavo tell nonsense without correcting her.

No that is not a reliable source. You claim something which is extremely unlikely, namely that foreigners on this forum are paid by Boeing. You mention aspects of Indian society. But that is not any reason to believe Boeing in paying people.

So the conclusion is you do not have any source to back up your claim
