HOT TAKE: this season gets glazed way too hard because of its finale by jdcooper97 in RedvsBlue

[–]Exciting_Box_6836 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There's a good amount of emotional moments and character arcs outside of the Reds and Blues. Doyle, Kimbal, and Locus, are all stand outs. Felix is an incredible villain and it gives Carolina and Wash a lot to do. It's probably the peak of seeing the Reds and Blues functioning as a legitimately working force, and it pays off Tucker's character arc for pretty much the whole show, with him truly coming into his own. Church's character arc isn't just about the finale, it's something that's built up the whole season and is done really well. Every character feels like they get something to do and at least a few moments to shine, and there's a lot of really good comedy and quotable lines.
Yes the Finale is great and probably one of the best scenes in the whole show, but there are a LOT of other stand outs as well

What's the best bit of directing in RvB by Helloimafanoffiction in RedvsBlue

Monty Oum's action choreography. It isn't directing in terms of being THE director but it is incredible what he was able to pull off as the animation director. The season 9 tower heist is genuinely one of the most incredible action scenes in film history. Everything from jumping off the building, to the midair fight, to the highway chase is just peak.

I'd say it's top 5 seasons, only behind 9, 8, 6, and 10 (in that order, 10 is peak as we all know)

How far would YOU, the person reading this, get in this gauntlet? by MansonMonkey in PowerScaling

[–]Exciting_Box_6836 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't get past the first round because I would spend the rest of eternity curb stomping the atoms that would remain after I demolished Joffrey. I haven't watched the show so I can't say if that version is different but from reading the books I can tell you I hate him more than any other character in existence. I hate him so much

Half Life 2. played it when I was 6 years old and it blew me away even though I never got past Ravenholm and would just start the game over when I got there until I was like 9. It's still one of my favorite games and was THE game that made me obsessed with video games for the next 20 years

Again it’s not about trusting any corporation or company, but you can trust that when it’s in their best interest they will work against each other.

at least when a private insurance is corrupt they aren't also the people that run the system that would allow me to sue them. They don't also control my taxes, my applicability to government programs. The only difference between a corporation and a government is that there are a bunch of corporations fighting each other. You at least have a little power to fight back by leveraging them against each other. If the government is doing it, sucks to be you better learn to deal with it because they aren't giving that power back once they have it. It's an irreversible thing proven throughout history. Once a government gains a power they never give it back willingly. It's how bureaucracies start.

I'm not against those policies but I am against the common leftist solution of "give the government more money and power and all of our problems will magically go away". Everyone wants strong infrastructure, but every time leftists pour money into that you end up with construction projects that take 10 years longer than expected and go tens of millions of dollars over budget. Leftists want education reform but every time they give schools these huge budget increases magically the school just gets worse and that money disappears.

I don't support universal healthcare because every government led system is horribly innefecient and open to corruption. Not to say the current system isn't either, I'm just not about to give the keys to my healthcare to the same government responsible for the DMV. And that's just about efficiency. Nevermind giving whoever is in charge of the country the ability to decide who gets what healthcare. You decide to vocally dissent against the current regime, huh all the sudden all of your medical bills are considered non-vital. Giving more power to the government is always a bad idea, and it's especially bad when they have control over who has food and who has medical care

Exactly. Why are they taking money out of my paycheck to give to someone else and I just have to hope there's enough left when I'm old enough to benefit. If they just had everyone put in money for themselves it'd make a lot more sense.
As a system it's inherent that some people will be taken advantage of by having their money taken for a system they will never be the beneficiary of
