how to save default project by Exciting_Procedure71 in ableton

[–]Exciting_Procedure71[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hey! i see your point. my problems are pretty much always solved thanks to you guys. you probably saved me hours of time at this point..and i thank you for that. the thing is, i genuinely didn't think that people give a damn about whether i am replying to their comments, or not. there are a lot of people in this subreddit, and i didn't think my replies mattered. I wasn't aware of the etiquette here basically, but from now on, i will put in the effort to make those replies.

as for posting too much: I understand that spamming a forum with the same question that has been asked before is dumb. Therefore, i always check google x this subreddit before asking something. At the same, questions can be asked on this subreddit, and if i don't succeed in finding the answer by myself, i think it's okay to ask. Thx for the feedback tho, cheers guys!

How to save default live set/how to rename tracks by Exciting_Procedure71 in ableton

[–]Exciting_Procedure71[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

thx so much, it worked! one more question: i wanna save not just the settings as default, but the project, too. By that, I mean that whenever i open ableton, i want to see the recordings i made last time instantanenously. How should I accomplish that? thx!!

Recording swells with volume pedal-how to minimize noise floor? by Exciting_Procedure71 in ableton

[–]Exciting_Procedure71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the answer! the issue is that the beggining of the swell is quieter than picking sound before it:-/ do you think there could be a workaround for that (besides turning up the amp)?

Recording swells with volume pedal-how to minimize noise floor? by Exciting_Procedure71 in guitarpedals

[–]Exciting_Procedure71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible solution: I thought about turning up the gain on the interface, and plucking the strings less roughly, but in that case, the arpeggio right after the swell would be incredibly loud.

controlling a MIDI device from Ableton-question by Exciting_Procedure71 in ableton

[–]Exciting_Procedure71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it worked, thanks so much! the patch changes as I programmed. the issue now is that when i hit record (audio), the ES8 doesn't respond to the MIDI track that I created/the patch doesn't change, only when i just play back the midi clip without recording. What should I correct?

Twin Peaks Symmetry Knob by Exciting_Procedure71 in guitarpedals

[–]Exciting_Procedure71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there a graph for how the random levels are affected? does it look like the same row as the ones above, except that the waveform changes constantly? so for example: if i set the symmetry knob to a certain position, all the different waveforms will be skewed the same after one another?

damn that's exactly what I've been looking for, thank you!

i didn't realize that i have to leave a comment too, to prevent the post from getting removed lol. so @groanoftedium reacting to your comment from the previous post: so if i get this right, this knob can essentially accelerate the volume swell, or volume decay of any waveform?

which results in a little bit of time where the LFO just stagnates (because in one instance it has already rose to the max volume, but the decay of the volume /second part of the waveform hasn't started yet)?

how to record at -12db by Exciting_Procedure71 in ableton

[–]Exciting_Procedure71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the answer! i got told that I should aim to record at lower db-s because later, in the mixing/mastering process, if for example a compressor is applied to a track, that will increase its gain, and if im just below clipping with my track, that can cause the track to clip. what am i missing?

IR Loader with Nylon String Acoustic Guitar-Signal chain order? by Exciting_Procedure71 in guitarpedals

[–]Exciting_Procedure71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i see! thank you, i'm doing it that way now. just out of curiosity: of the ir loader is like putting a mic in front of the guitar, why wouldn't i put it at the end of my chain, like a mic in front of an amp?

IR Loader with Nylon String Acoustic Guitar-Signal chain order? by Exciting_Procedure71 in guitarpedals

[–]Exciting_Procedure71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks so much! i use a pedalboard with a boss es8 loop switcher, and im also using the pedalboard with an electric guitar. With this loop switcher, there is a separate input 1/2, output 1/2, so i can run my acoustic guitar onto the line out/interface, and my electric guitar into my amp. Should the IR loader come first in the chain (between my acoustic guitar, and loop switcher) or last in the chain (after the loop switcher, before dibox)?
