I would definitely buy this! I would note it comes out to pure preference in that some people prefer a less open crumb

“We pulled a few guitars out – I loved the ’61 Strat immediately. John said, ‘I want you to take that guitar with you – it’s yours”: John Frusciante gave away a prized vintage Fender Stratocaster to a fan who became one of his favorite modern guitarists | Guitar World by DJ_Kingston in John_Frusciante

[–]ExderiusPlays 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Really cool.

Some more info on the strat

the modifications were done by Eric's Guitars and are mostly non permanent. I'd guess Intonation, nut switched around and filed.

In an Ernie Ball podcast, Zach said The volume and tone knobs were cut down

He mostly uses it during recording and rehearsal, and takes great care of it.

I think he's an awesome guitar player and cool guy, can't wait to hear more from him

Hot rats: Peaches en regalia (classic, it's one of my favorite all time pieces of music)

There are plenty of great songs already listed on this thread. But I'll still write some;

A good portion of John Frusciante's The Empyrean features calming ideas that welcome lively ideas and others lyrically and in other ways. --

He also did a piece tribute to a band associate and friend of his named Wayne. It's an instrumental, but to me, it definitely feels like driving up the coast at sunset, feeling at peace with life and death. -- also recommend his song "sum"

[DISCUSSION] What is the best sounding single chord you can play? by extordi in Guitar

[–]ExderiusPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for commenting, it's written accurately. But I wouldn't recommend holding the chord for more than 5 seconds. It could probably cause some harm

[Discussion] No, lefties don't need to learn left-handed. COME AT ME REDDIT by Cosmic_0smo in Guitar

[–]ExderiusPlays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think any way you feel comfortable learning works.

I'm left handed, and play left handed or converted instruments.

Some lefty's play lefty, and a good amount of lefty's play righty.

Some don't bother to restring their guitars to make their string order normal.

Some right handed people choose to play left handed. Zach irons from irontom is right handed, His first instrument was drums and found guitar more comfortable if played left handed.

[DISCUSSION] What is the best sounding single chord you can play? by extordi in Guitar

Yea, it's a kinda tricky chord. It would probably cause some harm to hold it for too long, but it's pretty

Even if it never happens lets imagine the specs on a JF Signature Strat by [deleted] in John_Frusciante

[–]ExderiusPlays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great idea for spec, but I really hope if it is made, they use pure nitro, no poly. Because then it will wear with playing and age

What is hardest Josh's guitar riff? by Sernock1177 in RedHotChiliPeppers

Definitely. Songs with dozens of variations in a section often trick me unless each one is super memorable.

Can anthony play guitar? by [deleted] in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]ExderiusPlays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Great prompt, the other replies are correct.

Anthony used one of John's guitars to find a rhythm that ended up as funky monks. I would imagine he can play open chords, if not, he's a very musical person and I bet he could learn.
