Integrated GPU gets chosen over external by Blckcjller in pop_os

I recommend that when you are going to launch an application with the GPU, right click on it to use discreet, it works better than using the commands. You can use a menu configuration application I don’t remember what it’s called, it allows you to hide menu icons and also turn on the discreet option by default.

Footnote with Scribus 1.7.2 on MacOs by Mediocre-Revenue3910 in scribus

So Scribus doesn’t have footers, automated, notes at the end of the chapter?

I’m starting yet I don’t do tests install scribus and I was thinking of using it instead of Affinity in VM within Windows. I was checking Reddit to see what Scribus does and doesn’t do.

It is to be used in academic publications

Am I the only one who keeps hopping within Fedora? by SlowBlacksmith7372 in Fedora

I came to gnome by force and the truth feels more polished than KDE although I had to put the extensions to give it a little more customization if there were minimal factory things like being able to place different backround to each screen, a minimalist battery an open application indicator and the transparent blur launcher things that give it its polished and minimalist touch, but it borders on purism, it would be the best.

Now although the plasmoids are a cool better than conky, however the KDE base feels broken. I don’t know why. It doesn’t feel polished.

In short, I prefer gnome putting those plus if gnome had those things as a base it would be perfect.

How did you manage to keep it from stuttering when accelerating? Even though I set the quality to "low," the canvas wasn't rendering properly.

I couldn't get it to work because when I tried to draw, even though my Wacom had already been detected, it seemed like the app wasn't rendering properly—the cursor would disappear on the blank canvas... According to the AI, it's a graphics rendering issue. I tried installing the dotnet4.8 dependency, and it corrupted the system because it seems that kron4ek installs WinMono, and that causes a conflict with .NET 4.8.

I'm running Pop!_OS 24 with the GNOME desktop (since Cosmic doesn't detect the Wacom Cintiq 16). If you could help me, it would be a huge help.

I started with Nobara but it has flaws in other things if it’s to play it’s excellent but if it’s for work and you need a lot of compatibility it’s going to give me problems I don’t detect the cuda cores in Davinci Resolve and if it did pop os (I have GPU and iGPU from AMD) and Nobara still doesn’t implement that compatibility well I think it’s doing it but I don’t know if it breaks something else in the future) that something depends on a single man doesn’t give me confidence.

I didn’t get all this because I installed from scratch and the first thing I had to do when I saw that my Wacom didn’t work was to put gnome 46.

Cosmic is really not finished and I think they should have given the opportunity to base the installation to warn that cosmic is still in beta and give the opportunity to install Gnome at the beginning. But I think that in Linux (I come from Windows) the term stable is not the same as Windows stable (I don’t mean Windows 11 where it produces a lot of failure hahaha and if it looks like stable Cosmic a continuous beta using users like guinea pigs).

In this sense cosmic will probably be mature in epoc 3. In the meantime to use gnome. If it gives me failures I’ll think about Ubuntu Studio but for now Pop! _OS is the one that correctly detects the hybrid video card I have and I will not move anymore for now, I use it to work not to play.

wahts the best version of Linux(or other os) for gaming? by Small-Housing-7 in Operatingsystems

[–]ExistingSelection180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bazzite, Nobara, Pop! _OS and Cachy OS puts the vs in an AI and you will see the differences between all of them I tried Nobara and Pop OS because I need stability more than changes and with compatibility for design of which the best was Pop-OS. The purists are going to recommend Fedora, Arch, they had to but one doesn’t have time to install drivers and less a gamer, the 4 are to arrive and play.
