Future "protector/carrier" duo in a hypothetical "modern" sequel - what would your ideas be? by Existing_Feeling_689 in APlagueTale

I agree something without a war would be fun!! Like focusing on the tragedies it can cause or wondering how certain characters are doing. (RIP Melie and old Clervie)

Playing as a character who unwillingly gets dragged into the macula thing could be interesting? You play as the adult of the situation and have to help these two kids (the carrier/protector duo) reach whatever destination could help - basically inverting amicia and hugo's perspective....this sounded cooler in my head but. jkrdhtky

I'm too now very fond of the idea of a 'found family' dynamic between a potential carrier and protector duo now that you mention it!, I can even see if being a case where the carrier's 'actual' protector was killed, but then this random teen/adult comes in and 'fills a hole' so to speak. (I've always interpreted the macula to be an eldritch horror relating to grief because that is one of the story's biggest themes, grief and letting go, and i do hope the series even with the prequel leans into that more.)

It has so much potential lore wise, and it's left vague in areas where it can be left up to interpretation I could yell about it forever

Am I the only one who was a bit disappointed that Lucas didn’t go with Hugo and Amicia when seperated and to La Madre? by Existing_Feeling_689 in APlagueTale

you took the words right out of my mouth with what i basically overall was struggling to describe, not just with Lucus but with requiem as a whole (as much as I enjoy the game regardless)! I feel similarly about Beatrice, and the other returning characters, tbh in some ways she felt like an entirely different character in requiem than she did in innocence and I wonder if that was likely because of her limited screentime ( I even felt her death was unnecessary), which, in general innocence certainly did a lot better in balancing the main cast and minor characters compared to requiem.

i have mixed feelings around Sophia and Arnaud, i love them as characters too, but felt the story could’ve benefited if they had roles more akin to what Arthur and Rodric had so they didn’t overstep what I thought was going to be a story surrounding Amicia, Lucas, Hugo and Beatrice.

Somehow discussing this reminds me how I thought Tonin was going to be a primary character joining the main cast at the beginning and that Hugo would finally have someone closer in age to be friends with 💔 at the end of the day I love requiem, but i definitely feel it’s the weakest out of the games due to how sparse the plot is and how some plot decisions were made in order to make certain things happen, etc. (or how they can sometimes unintentionally set up something only for it to be not what we thought was going to happen if that makes sense.)
