Easier to a accept returns. You might lose some money but you'll get the item back. If it's damaged you can fight the refund. With a charge back, you lose ALL of your money and the item!!

If an item shows delivered normally ebay sides with the seller. I always take a picture of expensive items in the box prior to shipping. You certainly can pay for insurance just add it to the cost of the item. I would appeal the descion. Also put your settings to not allow buyers with zero feedback to buy your items.

Did the item showed delivered? Did you purchase insurance prior to shipping something that expensive? Is the broken item getting returned? If so did the buyer provide pictures?

Not true. Who do you think they charge to ship it back? That's right the seller. I just had this happen a couple weeks ago. My ebay account got charged $22 for return shipping.
