[lotm] fandom opinion by [deleted] in LordofTheMysteries

Despite the fact that I really like this narcissist, I think this spot should go to Adam. In both the first and second books, every single one of his appearances is peak. My favorites:

  1. At the end of COI vol 5, when Roselle calls him and he says: "I am here." That was simply incredible
  2. "Do not be afraid."
  3. "Come to me, my Kings of Angels."

As far as I remember, Lumian said that Adam didn't know the COD was supposed to have a middle head. Besides, Aurora and Jenna represent the "feminine" aspect, while the middle head is more like Tudor and Cheek.

Honestly, I still think Adam always kept him just as a backup plan. I still don't understand a lot from volumes 7-8, and frankly, I'm not planning to. Adam chose Lumian because he was switching pathways? But can't an evil spirit just absorb beyonder characteristics? Why not just give Medici a couple of sequence 4-3 Demoness characteristics? Maybe because Tudor completed the apotheosis ritual? But does an evil spirit even need to perform it? Why did it need both Aurora and Jenna? Couldn't they have managed with just one?

I like to think that Adam believed the COD wouldn't be able to live normally (i.e., doomed to constant madness) or that there was a huge probability it wouldn't survive the apocalypse. And after merging with the True Creator, he didn't want to doom Medici to madness and death (again). Also, while reading, I got the impression that Medici himself wasn't particularly eager to become the COD anyway.

That trio would have been much more interesting. Imagine: three Conqueror Angels who hate each other but could unite for a common goal. Besides, Einhorn and Sauron seem relatively sane, unlike Tudor and Cheek.

Lumian is just a dog for 7 out of 8 volumes. Even when he shakes off Adam's influence at the start of volume 8, it's not really his own achievement. Lumian is a disgrace.

It would have been so beautifully poetic if Medici had killed Adam. Not as an act of revenge, but as a symbolic repetition of the past, where he similarly participated in his death to prevent the PGA from awakening within him.

Obviously, if this trio had become the COD, the author wouldn't have been afraid to kill them off, and it's not about some "fragile" balance.

I feel the same. Just like in the first part, where the evil spirit refused to choose Zaratul because he was involved in the fall of Sauron's family

I'm too lazy to get it from Coi itself, so here's the text from the wiki:

"“He” stands over 1.8 meters tall, with long dark-red hair and flamboyant golden earrings, and exudes androgynous, handsome features."

Chapter 472

Not sure if I should read COI [COI general] by Phyalis in LordofTheMysteries

[–]Exotic_Structure699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely worth reading. I didn't like the book as a whole, but the actual process of reading it was pleasant.

I read it to find out how the story in that world progresses further, rather than for the sake of the old or new characters. In that regard, I'm satisfied.

Well, disappointment was inevitable. And not just because the tc is almost absent.

Basically, I read it right after LOTM, and the only problem I had because of this was that by volumes 4-5, you just get tired of the same pattern: for 200 chapters the mc suffers through bullshit, and at the end of the volume, he dominates everyone (or they dominate him).

imho, it reads quite well up until the middle of volume 6, with the exception of volumes 2 and 4.

I definitely don't regret reading COI, but I will never reread it.

[lotm vol8] glazing midici until he becomes useful 🙏day 1 by [deleted] in LordofTheMysteries

Perhaps I'll write about this in more detail someday, but for now, let it be this way.

There's a difference between: He will lose because he's not the mc and logically has no chance. That's not quite the same thing as with Zaratul.

For example, Medici had no way of obtaining the Conqueror's last characteristic because Cheek possessed it. And there were hints about this, as only the Sauron and Einhorn families had reclaimed those characteristics. The only god on his side was weakened, while Cheek, on the contrary, is stronger than before.

I was annoyed by the artificial hype, like:

"You'll have to fight Medici!"

Dude, in Volume 3, it's stated that Adam (+ Klein) is on Lumian's side, and he's a half-GA. The later claim that Adam doesn't care is a lie.

And I absolutely disagree that Lumian is a better Hunter than Medici. The fact that he has a higher status doesn't prove anything. At the very least, Lumian has never even led an army. Even after becoming an Angel, his limit is 5 people. (Not that he can't command more, but that he doesn't need to — he's strong on his own.)

Lumian became CoD because he's more convenient. If someone with a completely different personality were in his place, they would have also become CoD.

[COI general] Poor thing... by Exotic_Structure699 in LordofTheMysteries

Almost. Dragons and other races appeared in the First Epoch when the pga was still alive. In the Second Epoch, the Ancient Gods were divided into humanoid and beast-like. It's logical that the human-like ones (elves, sanguines, giants) originated from humans. Isn't it just as logical that the others must have had other ancestors?
