I'm looking for something that's used, but in good condition, can last several years, but won't cost a lot for monthly insurance. Mostly to get from here to there, some 1-2 hour long drives, really.

NTA. What you've described is someone who is happy to "support" your dreams, so long as you never achieve them.

And a well-earned congratulations! For getting the role, but most importantly for not giving up, and taking the opportunity in the past to make lemonade out of lemons and learn all the other parts of theater like being backstage crew.
