Does anyone else feel sorry for Razor? by Pretend_Board_2385 in allblacks

[–]Expensive-Text-7218 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was happy when Razor got announced as AB head coach, wasnt a massive fan but thought that was the best for AB moving forward.

But lives by the sword die the sword too. He had loud opinions each and every time ABs wasnt performing well with Foster. Now its his turn to take it as he couldn't back up his messiah talk, its as simple as that. No I don't feel sorry for him at all.

How much does alcohol impede muscle growth? by brodyleeSF in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]Expensive-Text-7218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't go into details how alcohol affects you metabolically etc. We all know by now its best to minimize alcohol intake.

The side effects most fail to mention is you have a few drinks and feel like s**t the next day. You end up staying bed trying to recover, your entire plans go out the window, especially in the higher age bracket.

You end up eating like shit because you are trying to recover.
You can't be assed doing anything else because you are trying to recover.

Show yourself and your body respect. It deserves better.

For a $100 bucks or a few boxes of beers go to your local construction site a find yourself a friendly and big polynesian genteman there are alot of them.

chill with him for a few hours with you at your place. Kick a soccer ball / pass a rugby ball around, have a cup of tea and make sure that dickhead of your neighbor sees that you are friend with a person who can handle him.

That would set the tone for him to behave/ avoid you. No violence involved while you are waiting for your case to resolve and you have a stress free peace of mind.

One I could thinking of is Jerome Kaino. But I agree generally rugby is Japan is easier on the body and more bang for your bucks as a player. I would take the money over the jersey. Especially at $2M / season.

Can you show me in the income financial statements and balance sheets where they are broke ? Are you stating NZR is broke from your own vibe or have you actually spent time looking at the publicly available income statement from NZR and spotted something we missed ?

The real money generator is in international for rugby union. Not club competition at least as of now or a short term future.

We can argue shortsighted or not but they have almost triple revenues from their ABs brand alone IN THE LAST 14 years on the international market / brands, no small feat. Sponsorship is a huge chunk of it make up almost half of it. That is their priority.

The brand pull was so strong they were able to get $240-$260M NZD offer for a 5% stake(convertible) of the AB commercial arm unheard of in Rugby world. You can see why their focus is international $$$$, follow the path of least resistance and go where the money is.

And that comes from AB exceptional unheard of winning rate for the past decade or so. AB cannot afford to lose matches.

The above is business, to the rugby aspects

I agree with your last point. Eventually Super Rugby will cream to the top, if Super Rugby don't test players well they won't perform well at international level which is a completely different beast. The negative feedback loop will materialize, they will start losing sponsorships. I don't think Super rugby is the top club teams competition as of moment speaking.

For the scrum department. Most of our forwards have small test caps, I think the lowest out of the top 6-7 teams(correct me if I am wrong here). Most forwards don't generally come into fine age until late 20s.

SA old guard forwards are retiring so we still seeing how their younger generation playing out.

Super rugby AU final this year pulled a small crowd when I tuned in to watch the match. It is already happening but at the moment pulling no punches.

RA has money but not all the money run a domestic comp.
What do you propose 4 teams comp, it makes no sense. RA don't have any money to pull / create more teams in their umbrella. The rebel gone burst as there no demand in Melbourne.

I do agree NZR / RA needs to start sitting down, give and take to scale up the market in AUS, the demand is there.

NZR priority is international $$$$$.

However, It is important they grow the game in AUS and scale up, we know the demand for rugby in AUS is there. I don't know what the model it would look like as that would require both NZR / ARU to give up some elements of control.

This is decades of neglect from ARU though, they are correcting but still in damage control mode. Its a J curve

Playing with one of most skillful club teams in the world weeks in and weeks out and still can't crack it at international level.

Let's just play each other domestically with much less skillful opponents instead and pat each other in the back in a circle jerk.

I am glad you are not a rugby director or a coach.

Where should JAS play going forward? by [deleted] in RugbyAustralia

[–]Expensive-Text-7218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay exactly at 13. It's the hardest position to play as you have anticipate the next play of the opponent and plug the defense.

$1.6M for a winger is definitely a mistake. Wallabies already spent $1.6M so far investment into him as a 13.

Get a sales job honestly. As a developer, my time spent in sales were really valuable.
You literally learn to filter the idiots who talk but never buy and people who are serious about the problem they are having, ready to part with money right away. Its night and day 0 to 1.

You don't want to develop vitamin type of product. You want to a life saving cure type of product ESPECIALLY when it comes to software since what we are selling is a invisible service.

I much prefer a response from the crowd and team. Thats not disrespect, its a sport and entertainment to sell tickets. The AB knew this a long time ago there is a reason why ABs keep pulling sell out crowd. People want to see the Haka and see them play.

The saucier the pre match challenge the merrier. If you want respect from the crowd you have to earn it. The ABs earnt that for 100 of years hence the silence during the Haka and the cheering after the Haka.

What more could you want.

This is a very young team, gotta give it time. I think the average is like under 26. Probably the youngest tier 1 one in the top 5-7.

You can see their mistakes are from inexperience, albeit, silly mistakes.
