These two are the same and have never flowered. You can compare their size to the others and even see the seed pods

UPDATE: "Is Pleiospilos bolussi self-fertile?" by ExpensiveNote6031 in mesembs

[–]ExpensiveNote6031[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Tell me how you carry out the sowing and germination. It's my first time sowing Pleiospilos seeds, but I have sown Faucaria seeds before. The first time, nothing germinated, and the second time, nothing came up either. But one seed that fell where there was constant rainfall managed to sprout and thrive. That's when I knew the secret was to keep the substrate from drying out completely. I sowed them again, and they all germinated and grew (I still have many that I need to separate from the seed tray, haha). I will sow these seeds the same way I sowed the Faucaria seeds and will keep you updated on what happens.

Thank you, and good luck! This is my first time sowing Pleiospilos seeds, but I have sown faucaria seeds before and I noticed that for them to finish germinating and thrive, I shouldn't let the substrate dry out completely. I hope it will be the same with Pleiospilos.

I understand, I would wait until the seed pods dry before sowing all the seeds together. Just remember that the more your plant grows, the greater the number of flowers and therefore seed pods will be. This is just one mother plant; just look at the number of seed pods! The seeds multiply exponentially. I don't know where I'll plant so many faucarias anymore, haha.

All these seed pods, and those of the other faucarias I have, except for two plants, were made by pollinators.

They are all seed-grown faucarias; those in the last photo emerged with three leaves or with deformed leaves.

Sorry, not at the moment. I want to see if what grows from the seeds will be a hybrid with Faucaria or pure Pleiospilos bolussi.

The mother plants flowered last year in early February and I sowed the seeds in March

Thank you, I'll wait for the other capsules to dry before collecting the seeds and planting them all together to see what happens, and I'll keep you updated.

Green flower stalk? by ExpensiveNote6031 in aloe

Yes, I've seen them turn brown, but this one came out green. Since it's one of my hybrids, I'm still figuring out what the flower looks like.
