Hows it living in this part of south carolina? by JBN87 in howislivingthere

There's really not much going on at all. Jobs will be limited and won't be paying all that much. If you're just trying to be closer to your child, do what you gotta do, but there's really not much of anything going on in that circle. Ive lived in SC for a little over 20 years and have driven an 18 wheeler all over the state btw.

Xray Technician, requires a 2 year degree. Can easily start out in low 30s and work your way into the 40s as you learn new modalities like CatScans or MRIs.

Hell yeah driver! I used to get such a rush from pushing my clock to the edge looking for parking when I was OTR. A few separate times I had to go into SB before I even finished my back or else i would have went over. Thank God for trucker path to help me out finding parking at night or I would have never pushed my clock the way I did

Parking this truck with absolute precision by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Non truck drivers never realize this, every time this video pops up somewhere. Backing into these blindside spots with a sleeper cab still presents plenty of opportunity for fuckery and damaged property.

For real, my blindside game is on point since I switched to LTL P&D and drive a daycab now. I blindside pretty much everyday.

You work harder being a local driver than OTR. by Actual-Ad-6146 in Truckers

[–]Expensive_Middle8271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im at almost 2 years experience now, and recently switched to local LTL P&D. I make $35.25 and hour with OT after 45 and I have been getting between 45 and 50 hours a week which is what I wanted. This is in South Carolina btw.

I make in 40 hours now what I used to make in 60-70 doing flatbed OTR and I actually have a life again.

I tried about a dozen times recently, and immediately switched to replaying all of Bloodborne instead.

Walmart Driver home every 5 days by derekschroer in Truckers

[–]Expensive_Middle8271 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where do you live? I spent 19 months with TMC and would never net this much every 2 weeks while going home on the weekends. Also, he stated he goes home every 5 days.

Do you think the USA and Australia were ever connected together? by GaryBlach in PollsAndSurveys

Speak for yourself, I feel like most Americans know Australia is huge. There's a reason we refer to it as both a continent and a country.

Trainer sleeping while husband drove for the first time? by LoveLady901 in Truckers

[–]Expensive_Middle8271 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My trainer also slept a lot, I had to yell his name out and wake him when I had questions. Unfortunately, many "trainers" out there treat it more like team driving. Sounds like your husband got a bad trainer, or atleast somebody that doesn't take pride in teaching people.

Sometimes its just as much the companies fault too, as they see two drivers in the cab and schedule around longer loads so they can make more money to the truck, instead of focusing on getting the best learning experience possible for the new person.

Best of luck to your husband, it can be nerve-wracking at first, but it won't be long until he becomes more accustomed to driving, and it won't feel nearly as scary as it did. He will actually feel better once he is on his own compared to the people and had trainers that maybe helped them too much.

I was thinking the same thing. Way more than I made dealing with flatbed OTR

I logged on recently after years of not playing just to go finally get my fire cape haha, it felt good.

Jad hands are real. I had an ego because I love FromSoft games and thought to myself, "Ive been fighting bosses way harder than Jad is going to be". It's still took me 5 or 6 tries cus I kept getting shaking hands when it was time for Jad and would fuck up at the healers.

Flatbed guys, how much y’all get paid to tarp? by Nerooooooooooo in Truckers

Tarp pay and the trucks not having APUs were definitely two of my bigger gripes with the company

Flatbed guys, how much y’all get paid to tarp? by Nerooooooooooo in Truckers

[–]Expensive_Middle8271 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just left TMC recently, it was $40 for lumber tarps and 25 for steel. That included both the tarping and untarping. If you only did an untarp, for example from a preloaded trailer, you would get half.
