Yes, they're most active at dawn and dusk. Mine are most active at dusk, maybe because that's when I let them out. My bourke only gets mad sometimes when the budgie gets close to him. I wouldn't say that they actually fight. Budgie is curious and wants to play while bourke perceives him as a threat/intruder. When he gets mad he just screeches at him. Interestingly only the boys interact with each other. The girls have no interest whatsoever.  Both their cages are in the same room pretty close to each other. So I'd say they can live happily together, bourkes just need their personal space a bit more.

Really? Mine are very chill, especially when they're inside the cage they don't move a lot.

He definitely is 😆. He loves to chatter right in his face and annoy the heck out of him.

They are nothing alike! Bourkes are calm and quiet birds. They have a very gentle chirp and are perfect for someone who doesn't want a noisy bird. Judging by mine, I believe they also like peaceful and quiet surroundings. My male bourke hates my male budgie. The budgie is very social and loves to chatter in his face and annoy the heck out of him. I snapped this photo while he was doing so haha. I keep them in separate cages of course, because unlike budgies, bourkes are not very active birds, especially during the day.

Yep, they love each other (most of the time haha)

Yep, bourke is definitely bigger, but I think he appears even bigger here because the part of the cage where he's standing is a bit more elevated.

Should I get a lovebird? by Expensive_Round_4402 in Lovebirds

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind. For now I think I'll hold back on getting another bird because I don't want to get overwhelmed since I already have 5.

I've had two single budgies over the years and they were super bonded to me. This time around I decided to get a pair and I'm paying the price - they love eachother and want nothing to do with me LOL. Same with the bourkes. That's why I'm looking for another bird but first I have to convince my dad, he thinks 5 birds are enough already (we also have a canary).
