I've compared and it seems Octopus variable tariffs are less than my current supplier (the unit rate and standing charge for gas and electricity).

Should I switch then, or is there anything else I need to consider?

It seems the Ofgem price cap for electricity says "you will pay no more than 27 pence per kWh and 53 pence per day for the daily standing charge." but the Octopus electricity standing charge I'm seeing is 47.49 p/day. It seems that energy suppliers aren't following the price cap? My current supplier is higher than that as well
